A lamp fixing unit capable of simplifying the manufacture of a backlight assembly by eliminating the need for manual procedures is presented. The lamp fixing unit includes a fixing member and a lamp holder. The fixing member includes a fixing body and at least one receiving portion. The lamp holder includes a holder body and a conductive socket. The holder body includes a board insertion portion, a power supply member, and a lamp fixing member. Thus, the power supply member may be easily coupled to and uncoupled from the lamp holder, and the lamp may be easily grounded.

The cover element is, essentially, in disk or plate form, and irremovably connected to the base, for example by pin extensions integral with the base, passing through recessed openings in the cover element, and headed over, in the form of rivet or button heads, for example by ultrasonic welding.

A headlamp capsule having lamp capsule, base, web and connectors, is disclosed. The web comprises an inner support, an outer support, and a plurality of cross linkages that may be adjusted. The lamp capsule is held by the base, and the base is in turn held by the adjustable web. Adjusting the web after the lamp capsule has be positioned in the base, allows for corrective repositioning of the light source. The small number of parts, and the simplicity of each part makes the total structure very inexpensive, and still yields an accurately adjustable headlamp capsule.

The capped vehicle headlight lamp has a solid lamp cap with integral current supply conductors. The first ends of the current-supply conductors form lamp contacts. The current-supply conductors extend parallel to the lamp cap center line and have portions at right angles to the center line and at right angles to each other. The lamp vessel has current lead-through conductors, which are arranged diametrically opposite to each other and extend at least substantially along the center line of the lamp cap. The lamp may comprise a dipping cap, which is connected without a seam to the lamp cap and in whose wall a current supply conductor is included. The invention renders it possible to firmly secure the lamp vessel and the lamp cap to each other in an aligned position, while the construction of the lamp is nevertheless simple and reliable. Furthermore, a conductor not conveying current can be included in the dipping cap. This conductor and the current supply conductors may have a rectangular cross-section in order to obtain a larger thermal contact with the dipping cap.

The notched protective portion of the insulator is formed during the molding of the insulator by making the contactor portion of the eyelet smaller than the corresponding part of the die cavity and centrally positioning the eyelet within the cavity so that the insulating material is forced into the space between the peripheral edges of the contactor portion and the side walls of the molding die.Positioning and retention of the eyelet in the proper location within the cavity is automatically achieved by means of three spaced radially-extending lugs that are located at the bottom of the molding die and form a pocket which receives eyelets that are fed into the die.
