摘要: A primary electrochemical cell including a cell housing, an anode including metallic lithium, a liquid SOCl2 cathode and a separator separating the anode from the cathode. The liquid SOCl2 cathode material includes a salt of a Lewis base with a Lewis acid dissolved in the SOCl2 to form an electrolyte solution and an amount of SnCl2 dissolved in the electrolyte solution. The cell has a higher TMV and lower cell impedance after extended periods of cell storage at room or higher temperatures as compared to similar prior art primary Li/SOCl2 cells that do not include the SnCl2 additive.

摘要: A miniature electrochemical cell having a total volume that is less than 0.5 cc is described. The casing enclosure consists of a lower plate supporting a cylindrically-shaped can having an open upper end closed with a cover. The can is selectively coated with a dielectric material to provide electrical isolation of the to-be-housed active materials from the can sidewall. A glass-to-metal seal electrically isolates the lower plate from the can. An electrode assembly comprising a sandwich of cathode active material/separator/anode active material is housed in the casing. That way, the lower plate contacting the cathode active material is the positive terminal and the closing cover connected to the can and contacted to the anode active material serves as the negative cell terminal. An electrolyte filled into the casing activates the electrode assembly and the fill opening is sealed with a plug. The cell can be of either a primary or a secondary chemistry.

摘要: A secondary battery, including an electrode assembly and a housing accommodating the electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator disposed there between. The first electrode plate and the second electrode plate are wound to form the electrode assembly. A tab is disposed in the first electrode plate and protrudes from the housing; and an adhesive layer is disposed in the tab. The adhesive layer includes a first portion sandwiched between a package area of the housing and a second portion extending from the first portion along a length direction of the tab. In a width direction of the tab, the first portion has a width greater than that of the second portion. In the length direction of the tab, the second portion protrudes into a space enclosed by an innermost layer of the separator.

摘要: The present disclosure includes a metal housing, a cell arranged in the metal housing, and a cover plate arranged on the metal housing. The cell includes a cathode and an anode. The cover plate and the metal housing have a same polarity and are integrated by laser welding to realize a more reliable sealing of the battery housing. A cap is arranged at and protruded from an outer side of the cover plate. An insulating member is arranged between the cover plate and the cap to prevent a short between the cover plate and the cap. One of the cathode and the anode is electrically connected to the metal housing, and another of the cathode and the anode is electrically connected to the cap.
