摘要: The present invention generally relates to electrolytes for use in various electrochemical devices. In some cases, the electrolytes are relatively safe to use; for example, the electrolytes may be resistant to overheating, catching on fire, burning, exploding, etc. In some embodiments, such electrolytes may be useful for certain types of high-voltage cathode materials. In some cases, the electrolytes may include ion dissociation compounds that can dissociate tight ion pairs. Non-limiting examples of ion dissociation compounds include trialkyl phosphates, sulfones, or the like. Other aspects of the invention are generally directed to devices including such electrolytes, methods of making or using such electrolytes, kits including such electrolytes, or the like.

摘要: A homogenously mixed metal manganese oxide. The mixed metal manganese oxide includes a homogenous mixture of manganese and at least two more metals. The additional metals may be cesium, nickel, copper, bismuth, cobalt, magnesium, iron, aluminum, scandium, vanadium, chromium, silver, gold, titanium, or, lead. A method of making the metal manganese oxide material includes mixing salts of manganese and the additional metals. The mixture may be activated and digested at an elevated temperature. Also, a battery having a cathode made from the homogenously mixed metal manganese oxide.

摘要: Fiber-containing mats for lead acid batteries are described. The mats may include a plurality of fibers, a binder holding the plurality of fibers together, and one or more additives incorporated into the mat, where the additives may include one or more compounds selected from benzyl benzoate and a glycol ester. Additional fiber-containing mats include a plurality of woven or non-woven fibers and the one or more additives. The fiber-containing mats having the one or more additives may be used in lead-acid batteries that include a positive and negative electrode, a separator, and one or more pasting mats.
