    Abstract: A RF connector includes a first conductor and a symmetrical second conductor. Each conductor has an elongated structure of a flat conductive material with a length corresponding to ¼ of a nominal frequency of a signal to be coupled and is connected at a first end to a coaxial connector and at a second end to the housing. The RF connector can be switched between an ON state and an OFF state. In the OFF state, the first conductor is distant from the second conductor and in the ON state the first conductor is in close contact with the second conductor such that open sides of their respective housings are oriented against each other, and the conductors are facing each other.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a directional coupler, coupling high power and low power is used to replace existing two high-power directional couplers, thus reducing the cost and reducing the insertion loss of high-power radio frequency channels. The directional coupler cooperates with a control conditioning board, a splitter, a multi-path radio frequency power amplifier and a combiner to form the radio frequency power amplifier system, and the system is connected to a spectrometer; on one hand, by using a standard signal output by the spectrometer and a feedback signal of the directional coupler, nonlinearity caused by the power amplifier is corrected to achieve magnet-free linear radio frequency power amplification and anomaly protection; and on the other hand, the spectrometer can be used for monitoring the output power of the directional coupler and monitoring antenna matching, so as to provide dual protection for the radio frequency power amplifier system.

    Abstract: An RF module comprises a circuit board, a waveguide antenna, first and second semiconductor circuit devices, and first, second, and third RF ports. The first semiconductor circuit device including a local oscillator to generate a local oscillator signal. The circuit board includes a first opening between the first RF port and a first waveguide port for transferring the local oscillator signal from the first RF port into the first hollow waveguide. The circuit board includes a second opening between the second RF port and a second waveguide port to receive the local oscillator signal from the first hollow waveguide. The second semiconductor circuit device is configured to process a first RF signal based on the received local oscillator signal. The circuit board includes a third opening for transferring the first RF signal between the third RF port and a third waveguide port.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes a directional coupler and an absorptive low pass filter, in which the directional coupler has a first transmission line extending from a first port to a second port and a second transmission line extending from a third port to a fourth port, the first transmission line and the second transmission line configured such that a portion of a signal travelling from the first port onto the first transmission line is coupled to the second transmission line and towards the third port. The second port is connected to the fourth port of the directional coupler via the absorptive low pass filter. When the signal is input into the first port of the directional coupler and output through the third port of the directional coupler, the signal is substantially unattenuated if the frequency of the signal is in a passband of the absorptive low pass filter.

    Abstract: Quarter-wavelength switchable directional coupler architectures and methods that that use intermediate terminated states during directional mode-switching events to prevent generation of reflection coefficients that cause spur generation. A first embodiment of the invention utilizes existing circuitry within a quarter-wavelength switchable directional coupler but alters the conventional mode-switching sequence by adding new stage sequences to effectuate intermediate terminated states to mitigate or prevent spurs. A second embodiment of the invention modifies existing circuitry within a quarter-wavelength switchable directional coupler by adding a cross-coupled intermediate-stage termination circuit, and alters the conventional mode-switching sequence by adding new stage sequences to effectuate intermediate terminated states to mitigate or prevent spurs. A third embodiment of the invention also modifies existing circuitry within a quarter-wavelength switchable directional coupler by adding dual independent intermediate-stage termination circuits, and alters the conventional mode-switching sequence by adding new stage sequences to effectuate intermediate terminated states to mitigate or prevent spurs.
