    摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus and an adapter portion, the apparatus is connectable to the adapter portion and is suitable for conveying power. Each of the apparatus and adapter portion comprises an alignment portion/module configurable to facilitate contactless alignment, a contact portion/module which is capable of being coupled upon proper alignment, and a sensor portion/module configurable to impede or allow flow of power. The invention also relates to a power system including an apparatus which is pendulously coupled to a support structure and an adapter portion. The pendulous coupling facilitates alignment compensation during contactless alignment between the apparatus and the adapter portion.

    摘要: A system is provided for suppressing transient currents in electrical circuits to prevent damage to switching devices such as relays and/or solid-state switching devices. An associated automatic transfer switch (ATS) system (300) includes a primary power cord terminating in cord cap (302) for receiving power from a primary power source and a secondary power cord terminating in cord cap (304) for receiving power from a secondary power source. The system (300) further includes an output (306) for connecting to an output load such as a piece of electronic equipment. The output (306) may be a female outlet such that the system (300) can be directly connected to a male power port of a piece of equipment. The system (300) further includes a micro-ATS module (308) operative to sense a power outage or degradation of signal quality for the power signal of at least the primary power source and, in response, to switch the power supply from the primary source to the secondary power source. A surge suppression circuit (310) is interposed in the secondary power cord between the module (308) and the cord cap (304).

    摘要: A magnetic connector has a plug core disposed around a plug contact set and a receptacle core disposed around a receptacle contact set. The plug core defines a generally elongated circular plug core edge. The receptacle core defines a generally elongated concentric-circular receptacle core edge. The receptacle core edge defines an air gap and the plug core defines an anchor configured to insert into the air gap. A coil is disposed around the receptacle core, and the coil, the plug core and the air gap define a magnetic circuit. The coil is electrically energized so as to form a magnetic field within an air gap, lock the anchor within the air gap and lock the plug contact set to the receptacle contact set accordingly.
