摘要: A light source device includes: a fiber laser including an excitation light source and configured to output pulsed light generated according to excitation light from the excitation light source; a fiber amplifier configured to receive the pulsed light output from the fiber laser, amplify the pulsed light, and output the amplified pulsed light, a wavelength shift fiber configured to receive the pulsed light output from the fiber amplifier, shift a wavelength of the pulsed light, and output the pulsed light; an output fiber configured to receive the pulsed light output from the wavelength shift fiber, and output the pulsed light to an outside; a light detection element configured to detect, in the output fiber, the pulsed light having passed through at least the wavelength shift fiber; and a control unit configured to control a drive current of the excitation light source.

摘要: An all-fiber laser oscillator comprises a laser cavity, an amplification fiber, a plurality of diode lasers, and at least one side-pump signal-and-pump combiner (combiner). The combiner comprises a double-clad fiber (DCF) and four or more multimode fibers (MMFs). DCF comprises a first taper portion, whereas each of MMFs comprises a second taper portion fused around DCF. MMFs are configured to carry a portion of combined optical energy (COE) and to couple to DCF. The first taper portion can partially compensate a beam divergence created by the second taper portion, thereby increasing a coupling efficiency of COE coupled from MMFs to DCF with improved thermal performance. In a coupling portion, a refractive index difference between MMFs and DCF is configured to form a backward coupling barrier to suppress an optical energy in DCF from coupling into MMFs, thereby protecting the plurality of diode lasers from damage.

A laser element includes: a laminated semiconductor layer including a first reflection layer with respect to a first wavelength and an active layer that performs surface emission at the first wavelength; a laser medium disposed on a rear side of an optical axis of the laminated semiconductor layer and including a second reflection layer with respect to a second wavelength on a first surface facing the laminated semiconductor layer and a third reflection layer with respect to the first wavelength on a second surface on a side opposite to the first surface; a fourth reflection layer with respect to the second wavelength disposed on the second surface or disposed on a rear side of the optical axis with respect to the second surface; a first resonator that causes light of the first wavelength to resonate between the first reflection layer and the third reflection layer; a second resonator that causes light of the second wavelength to resonate between the second reflection layer and the fourth reflection layer; and a heat exhaust unit that is disposed between the laminated semiconductor layer and the laser medium and exhausts heat generated in at least one of the laminated semiconductor layer or the laser medium.

The optical signals have an operating center wavelength (λ0) that is centered between approximately 1260 nanometers (˜1260 nm) and ˜1360 nm (which is in the O-Band). The gain fibers are optically coupled to pump sources, with the number of pump sources being less than or equal to the number of gain fibers. The pump sources are (optionally) shared among the gain fibers, thereby providing more efficient use of resources.

摘要: A resonant cavity and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The resonant cavity includes a first reflective surface and a second reflective surface, each of the first and second reflective surfaces providing a phase shift of a reflected electric field component of light waves oscillating along a first principal axis that differs by about π relative to a phase shift of a reflected electric field component of light waves oscillating along a second principal axis that is normal to the first principal axis. At least one of the first and second reflective surfaces having diattenuation. The first principal axis of the first reflective surface is set rotated relative to the first principal axis of the second reflective surface by about an angle α0 between an unbroken parity-time symmetric region and a broken parity-time symmetric region. As a result, spatial hole burning and dual mode operation can be eliminated.
