摘要: A communications cable (11) is provided with a pliant sleeve (12, 21, 31) to allow it to be more easily inserted into a conduit. One form of the sleeve (12) has hook (14) and loop (15) connected to each other so that the sleeve (12) can engage the cable (11). Another form of the sleeve (21) is spring-loaded to engage the cable (11). In a third form of the sleeve (31) has an adhesive (33) which attaches the sleeve (31) to the cable (11).

摘要: The present invention relates to a wire gripper to aid in wire pulling and method of use, A gripper is inserted into an interior cavity. A base comprises an interior cavity and a threaded attachment. The gripper comprises more than one flexible finger. A wire receptacle is formed between the flexible fingers. The gripper slides into the interior cavity of the base. A collar is open at both the top and bottom end. A wire passes through the top end of the collar and slides into the wire receptacle. The wire is retained within the wire receptacle by fastening the base to the collar causing the flexible finger to apply retaining pressure to the wire preventing the wire from being removed from the wire grabber. A pulling tension is applied by an installer person to the wire grabber to pull the wire from a starting location to a destination location.

摘要: The present invention discloses a monitoring system of a cable laying state, comprising: a rotary connector, a composite steel cable and a monitoring system. Both ends of the rotary connector are respectively connected with a laid cable and the composite steel cable, wherein the rotary connector is provided with a tension sensor, a video sensor and an inertial navigation measurement module; and tensile force, video, and inertial navigation information are transmitted to the monitoring system through the composite steel cable. The monitoring system of the cable laying state disclosed by the present invention combines a video technology, a measurement technology and an inertial navigation technology and can monitor an environment in a pipeline, a cable core stress state and a three-dimensional coordinate of an actual path during a cable laying process in real time.

摘要: An annular seal member comprising a seal body comprising a locating portion locatable against a wall element of an offshore structure, an inner surface, an outer surface and a lip portion that defines an open mouth of the seal member for receiving an elongate element therethrough; wherein the seal body is locatable against the wall element such that when a static pressure acting on the outer surface of the seal body exceeds a static pressure acting on the inner surface of the seal body a net positive pressure is exerted on the outer surface which at least partly deforms inwardly to provide a portion of the seal body for sealing against an outer surface of the elongate element. An offshore structure.

摘要: An apparatus and methods for pushing conductors into conduit and other structures are disclosed. The apparatus (“pusher”) can include rollers to apply a pushing force to one or more conductors or bundles of conductors. One or more rollers can be coupled to a drive mechanism. The pusher is configured to pull conductors or bundles of conductors off of one or more spools, and push the conductors or bundles of conductors without de-bundling or sorting the conductors. The conductors can be fed through the pusher in any format including side-by-side, vertical on top of one another, twisted together, or other formats. The pusher can include a guiding device that is configured to route the conductors from the pusher to a conduit through which the conductors are being pushed or pulled.
