Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a controlling device and an electronic atomization device, the controlling device includes an atomizing output circuit, a protecting circuit and a controller. The atomizing output circuit is configured to be electrically connected with the atomizer and apply a voltage to the atomizer. The protecting circuit includes a temperature sensitive unit, and the temperature sensitive unit is configured to sense a temperature of the atomizer. The controller is electrically connected with the atomizing output circuit, and configured to control the atomizing output circuit. The protecting circuit is configured to control the atomizing output circuit according to the temperature of the atomizer sensed by the temperature sensitive unit. In response to the temperature of the atomizer is higher than a predetermined value, the protecting circuit makes the electrical connection between the atomizing output circuit and the atomizer being disconnected.

Abstract: Provided is a protection circuit capable of reliably preventing an overcurrent or a sneak current after cutoff to improve safety, implementing cost reduction with a device configuration simpler than conventional device configurations, and further reducing a failure rate of a device. In a protection circuit, after one of two fuse elements provided in each of a plurality of protection elements is blown due to an overcurrent flowing along a current-carrying path, a heater provided in at least one of the plurality of protection elements generates heat due to a sneak current flowing via the plurality of protection elements on the current-carrying path which is remained and the current-carrying path which is remained is cut off due to destruction of the heater.

Abstract: A method for providing thermal protection to a pre-charge unit (PRC) of an electric power conversion system, such as a medium-voltage adjustable-speed drive, with a step-up transformer and a DC link includes the steps of executing a parameter identification block identifying the electrical and thermal parameters of the PRC; of an electric power conversion system executing a current estimation block estimating the current flowing though the PRC's step-up transformer based on a voltage input; executing a thermal level estimation block estimating a thermal level at the PRC's step-up transformer based on the estimated current flowing though the PRC's step-up transformer; executing a protection logic block comparing the estimated thermal level to a pre-determined trip threshold to determine whether a thermal overload has occurred; and outputting a trip signal if the trip threshold has been exceeded. The disclosure further discloses an electric power conversion system, such as a medium-voltage adjustable-speed drive, with a step-up transformer and a DC link for executing a corresponding method.

Abstract: An electronic circuit breaker is configured to provide a fail-safe mode. It comprises at least one overvoltage component, a temperature sensor attached to the at least one overvoltage component and a sensing and control circuit configured to monitor temperatures of the at least one overvoltage component. There are two criteria to decide if the electronic circuit breaker should open, when either criterion is met. The first criteria is if monitored temperatures exceed max safe temperature at any time and the second criteria is if the monitored temperatures increase at two different time moments during start up.
