摘要: An active power conversion apparatus (APCA) is configured to estimate the grid frequency estimation of an electric grid connected to the APCA. The APCA includes a controller configured to receive measurements of at least one phase current between the APCA, and the electric grid. The controller is further configured to convert the at least one phase current to at least one synchronous reference frame, and determine direct and quadrature current references to be used in the frequency estimation. The controller is further configured to determine the use of frequency estimation as a manipulated variable that forces to zero at least one of the average values of current error signals. The APCA provides frequency control services in the electric grid that is equipped with the energy storage resource.

摘要: A controller for a DC microgrid and associated renewable energy source, RES, units. The DC microgrid comprises energy storage, ES, units and consumer units that are interconnected by a DC distribution network. The DC microgrid is connected to an AC grid to allow power to flow between the DC microgrid and the AC grid. The controller has three levels: a first for controlling daily operations, a second for making optimizing adjustments to the first level control based on historical data and the weather forecast, and a third which is an analysis level for modelling how changes in provision of the number of RES units and ES units would affect the DC microgrid's dependency on power from the AC grid. The output of the third level thus enables incremental changes to be made to provision in order to reduce, ideally eliminate, the net power demand from the AC grid.

摘要: A method of operating a drilling rig (that includes electrically powered equipment) and an energy supply system (that includes a battery storage, one or more generators, and an electrical bus that powers the drilling rig) includes: determining, by the energy supply system, a power demand of the drilling rig; comparing the power demand to a battery power threshold. When the power demand is less than or equal to the battery power threshold, the energy supply system enters a stealth mode by deactivating and disconnecting all generators from the electrical bus and powering the electrical bus and the drilling rig with only the battery storage. When the power demand is greater than the battery power threshold, the energy supply system powers the electrical bus with at least one of the one or more generators. The battery power threshold is based on a maximum power output rating of the battery storage.

摘要: A roof mountable photovoltaic system, wherein electrical energy is transferred from multiple direct current generating sources to at least one wireless energy receiver device through some separated distance. The system is configured such that electrical energy can be transferred even through an obstruction, such as several layers of roofing material, to the wireless energy receiver device. In some embodiments, there are fewer wireless energy receiver devices than the direct current generating sources. In some embodiments, the wireless energy receiver device can include one or more inductive windings, antennae, or a combination thereof, which can couple with the windings, antennae, or a combination thereof of the wireless transmitter(s) to transfer electrical energy from the transmitters to the one or more receivers without direct electrical or physical connection.

摘要: A doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) system is described. The DFIG system includes an induction electric machine including a stator having a stator winding and a rotor having a rotor winding. The stator winding is electrically connected to at least one output terminal and the rotor winding is electrically connected to the at least one output terminal by means of a power converter. The power converter includes a first active rectifier/inverter with alternating current AC terminals electrically connected to the rotor winding, and direct current DC terminals, and a second active rectifier/inverter with DC terminals electrically connected to the DC terminals of the first active rectifier/inverter by a DC link, and AC terminals electrically connected to the at least one output terminal. A controller is adapted to control the first active rectifier/inverter so that the frequency of the AC current at its AC terminals is substantially constant during at least one of a “line charging mode” and an “islanded mode”.
