    摘要: Techniques for generating a power tracking supply voltage for a circuit (e.g., a power amplifier) are disclosed. The circuit may process multiple transmit signals being sent simultaneously on multiple carriers at different frequencies. In one exemplary design, an apparatus includes a power tracker and a power supply generator. The power tracker determines a power tracking signal based on inphase (I) and quadrature (Q) components of a plurality of transmit signals being sent simultaneously. The power supply generator generates a power supply voltage based on the power tracking signal. The apparatus may further include a power amplifier (PA) that amplifies a modulated radio frequency (RF) signal based on the power supply voltage and provides an output RF signal.

    摘要: An amplifier includes: a high-frequency input terminal; a high-frequency output terminal; a multistage circuit provided between the high-frequency input terminal and the high-frequency output terminal and including two or more amplifiers and connected in series, each amplifier including an input matching circuit, a transistor, and an output matching circuit; a stabilizing circuit provided in at least two of the amplifiers and including a bandpass filter and a resistor connected in parallel; and a band-rejection filter provided between the at least two of amplifiers and eliminating a frequency lower than an operation frequency of the amplifier. The stabilizing circuit and the band-rejection filter are provided between an output terminal of the transistor of the amplifier and the output matching circuit or provided in the output matching circuit. The closer to the high-frequency input terminal the bandpass filter is, the lower a resonance frequency of the bandpass filter is.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for bidirectional amplification with phase-shifting. In example implementations, an apparatus includes a phase shifter with a bidirectional amplifier. The bidirectional amplifier includes a first transistor coupled between a first plus node and a second minus node, a second transistor coupled between a first minus node and a second plus node, a third transistor coupled between the first plus node and the second minus node, and a fourth transistor coupled between the first minus node and the second plus node. The bidirectional amplifier also includes a fifth transistor coupled between the first plus node and the second plus node, a sixth transistor coupled between the first minus node and the second minus node, a seventh transistor coupled between the first plus node and the second plus node, and an eighth transistor coupled between the first minus node and the second minus node.

    摘要: A power supply circuit in a wireless communications system includes an envelope tracking modulator coupled to a first power amplifier circuit and a second power amplifier circuit, so that the power supply circuit supplies power to the first power amplifier circuit and the second power amplifier circuit. When a transmit signal output by a processor is within a first bandwidth range, the power supply circuit supplies power to the first power amplifier circuit, and the first power amplifier circuit amplifies power of the transmit signal. When the transmit signal output by the processor meets a second bandwidth range, the power supply circuit supplies power to the second power amplifier circuit, and the second power amplifier circuit amplifies the transmit signal.

    摘要: Systems and methods for linearizing a radio system are disclosed. In some embodiments, a radio system comprises an antenna array, transmit branches comprising respective power amplifiers, a predistortion subsystem comprising predistorters for the transmit branches respectively, a receive antenna element, a transmit observation receiver having an input coupled to the receive antenna element, and an adaptor. The predistorters predistort respective transmit signals to provide predistorted transmit signals to the respective transmit branches for transmission via respective active antenna elements in the antenna array. The transmit observation receiver is operable to receive, via the receive antenna element, a combined receive signal due to coupling between the receive antenna element and the active antenna elements. The adaptor is operable to generate a combined reference signal based on the transmit signals and configure predistortion parameters input to the predistorters based on the combined reference signal and the combined receive signal.

    摘要: A multiplexer includes a transmission filter and a reception filter connected to a common terminal, a first inductor connected to the common terminal, and a multilayer substrate on which the transmission filter and the reception filter are mounted and which includes dielectric layers. The transmission filter includes a parallel-arm resonator connected to a path between the common terminal and a transmission terminal and a parallel-arm terminal, and a second inductor connected to the parallel-arm terminal and ground. The first inductor includes a first coil pattern on a first dielectric layer and a second coil pattern on a second dielectric layer. The second inductor includes a third coil pattern on the first dielectric layer and that is magnetically coupled to the first coil pattern. The inductance value of the second coil pattern is greater than that of the first coil pattern.

    摘要: An uplink multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) transmitter apparatus includes a transmitter chain that includes a sigma-delta circuit that creates a summed (sigma) signal and a difference (delta) signal from two original signals to be transmitted. These new sigma and delta signals are amplified by power amplifiers to a desired output level before having two signals reconstructed from the amplified sigma and amplified delta signals by a second circuit. These reconstructed signals match the two original signals in content but are at a desired amplified level relative to the two original signals. The reconstructed signals are then transmitted through respective antennas as uplink signals. By employing this uplink MIMO transmitter apparatus, it is possible to use smaller power amplifiers, which may reduce footprint, power consumption, and costs of the uplink MIMO transmitter apparatus.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for power amplifiers with positive envelope feedback are provided herein. In certain implementations, a power amplifier system includes a power amplification stage that amplifies a radio frequency signal, at least one envelope detector that generates one or more detection signals indicating an output signal envelope of the power amplification stage, and a wideband feedback circuit that provides positive envelope feedback to a bias of the power amplification stage based on the one or more detection signals. The power amplifier system further includes a supply modulator that controls a voltage level of a supply voltage of the power amplification stage based on the one or more detection signals such that the supply voltage is modulated with the output signal envelope through positive envelope feedback.
