A handheld payment terminal computer program may initiate Bluetooth numeric pairing with a base station; generate a handheld payment terminal Bluetooth pairing code; capture a coded light sequence emitted by LEDs on the base station; decode the coded light sequence to determine the base station Bluetooth pairing code; cause the base station Bluetooth pairing code and the handheld payment terminal Bluetooth pairing code to be displayed on a display; and in response to Bluetooth pairing code match, pairing the handheld payment terminal with the base station. The base station provides access to one or more networks and/or data communication to the handheld payment terminal when paired.

摘要: The present invention relates to a fiber branch structure for spatial optical communication for transmitting information by emitting communication light. The fiber branch structure is provided with: a light emitter configured to emit communication light; a light emission controller configured to control the light emitter; an optical fiber configured to transmit the light emitted from the light emitter; a distributor configured to distribute the light, the distributer being optically coupled to an output terminal of the optical fiber; and an optical fiber group optically coupled to a plurality of output terminals of the distributor. According to the present invention, a communication area can be established without blind spots. That is, the fiber branch structure for spatial optical communication according to the present invention includes an optical fiber group optically coupled to a plurality of output terminals of the distributor. A communication area can be established more assuredly by such an optical fiber group, which prevents the optical communication from being interrupted.

摘要: An illumination device comprising a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a method for controlling the illumination device while avoiding flicker in the LED output is provided herein. According to one embodiment, the method may include driving the plurality of LEDs substantially continuously with drive currents configured to produce illumination, periodically turning the plurality of LEDs off for short durations of time during a first period to take measurements or communicate optical data, and increasing the drive currents supplied to the plurality of LEDs by a small amount when the LEDs are on during the first period to compensate for lack of illumination when the LEDs are periodically turned off during the first period.

摘要: A smart light source configured for visible light communication. The light source includes a controller comprising a modem configured to receive a data signal and generate a driving current and a modulation signal based on the data signal. Additionally, the light source includes a light emitter configured as a pump-light device to receive the driving current for producing a directional electromagnetic radiation with a first peak wavelength in the ultra-violet or blue wavelength regime modulated to carry the data signal using the modulation signal. Further, the light source includes a pathway configured to direct the directional electromagnetic radiation and a wavelength converter optically coupled to the pathway to receive the directional electromagnetic radiation and to output a white-color spectrum. Furthermore, the light source includes a beam shaper configured to direct the white-color spectrum for illuminating a target of interest and transmitting the data signal.
