Abstract: A random access configuration information based on a reference SCS may allow for a unified coordinate system used by the base station and UEs that describes the time-frequency resource configuration for a two-step RACH procedure. The apparatus receives, from a base station, random access configuration information for the base station. The apparatus determines a first time duration for a preamble of a first random access message based on the random access configuration information received from the base station and a reference SCS associated with an uplink BWP configured for the first random access message. The apparatus determines a second time duration for a payload of the first random access message based on the random access configuration information received from the base station and the reference SCS. The apparatus transmits the first message to the base station to initiate a random access procedure.

Abstract: A UE in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The UE includes a communication module and a processor for controlling the communication module. The processor determines a first cyclic shift (CS) value based on hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) information representing a response to a downlink channel having been received from a base station, determines a CS offset based on request information representing a request to be transmitted from the UE to the base station, determines a second CS value representing a degree of cyclic-shifting a base sequence to be used in a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) based on the first CS value and the CS offset, and transmits the PUCCH for simultaneous transmission of the request information and the HARQ-ACK information using a sequence generated by cyclic-shifting the base sequence based on the second CS value.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access message including a preamble and a payload. A base station may detect the preamble of the random access message. The base station, and may fail or succeed to decode the payload of the random access message. The base station may transmit, based at least in part on detecting the preamble and the different decoding outcome for the payload, a random access response. The random access response may include an uplink group grant and an indication for a type of the uplink group grant for a plurality of UEs whose preamble transmission share the same time and frequency occasion. UEs may monitor the type and the contents of the uplink group grant and transmit data subsequently on a set of shared time frequency resources. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A relay node may establish a control plane connection between the relay node and a base station, wherein establishing the control plane connection comprises receiving from the base station a first network identifier for the relay node. The relay node may receive, via the control plane connection, a relay configuration from the base station. The relay node may monitor grants associated with a set of one or more user equipment (UEs) based at least in part on the relay configuration, each UE comprising a network identifier that is different from the first network identifier. The relay node may relay communications between the base station and the set of one or more UEs according to the monitoring.

Abstract: Fallback procedures for user equipments (UEs) are described that provide efficient fallback to a four-step random access procedure from a two-step random access procedure. For example, after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, a UE may start a fallback timer or counter and monitor for a second message of the two-step random access procedure for the duration of the fallback timer or counter. At the expiration of the fallback timer or counter, the UE may fall back to a four-step random access procedure. In some cases, the UE may transmit multiple repetitions of the first message and monitor for responses after transmitting the repetitions or after each repetition. Additionally, or alternatively, the base station may transmit an explicit signal to the UE that may signal to the UE to perform a fallback procedure at a beginning or middle of a random access procedure.
