Abstract: Methods and systems for determining projected amounts of viewing time of a TV program by end-users are disclosed. Data including end-user type, a TV program descriptor, TV network, and start time of transmission may be received. End-users may be identified by end-user type. A machine-learning model applied to the data and viewing history data may generate parameters for determining how much of the TV program they are each expected to view during a sequence of time intervals. For each end-user, the parameters may be applied to make a determination of temporal-fraction values of the TV program the end-user is expected to view during the time interval, and for each time interval, conditioning values used to condition the determination for the next time interval. Projected subtotals of viewing time may be determined, based on the temporal-fraction values. A projected total amount viewing time of the TV program may then be determined.

The system also includes means for receiving, from the server, via the Internet, an identification of one or more particular additional content and in response to receiving the identification of the one or more particular additional content from the server, means for interrupting presentation of the content data; and presenting the one or more particular additional content. The system further includes means for resuming, presentation of the content data after presenting the one or more particular additional content.

Abstract: Generative media content (e.g., generative audio) can be dynamically generated based on various inputs, which can include blockchain data. A playback device accesses blockchain data stored via a distributed ledger and generates media content based at least in part on the blockchain data. The playback device can access a library of pre-existing media segments and arrange a selection of pre-existing media segments from the library for playback according to a generative media content model and based at least in part on the blockchain data. The generated media content can then be played back via the playback device.

Abstract: Various embodiments include systems and methods for performing mid-stream content delivery network (CDN) steering. A processing system in a manifest manipulator may receive a content request from a client device that is directed to obtain content from a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a primary on-premise CDN. The processing system may also receive an event notification from a CDN decision server that indicates that there is an issue with the primary on-premise CDN. The processing system may modify a manifest file associated with the received content request in response to receiving the event notification from the CDN decision server, and send the modified manifest file to the client device to cause the client device to obtain the requested content from a third-party CDN.

Abstract: Assets of broadcast network content are targeted to network users of interest based on location information regarding user equipment devices. Asset providers can specify location targeting criteria via a graphical user interface displaying mapping information. This location targeting criteria can then be compared to location information regarding user equipment devices so that assets are delivered to appropriate devices. The comparison of the location targeting criteria to the device location information can be performed at the user equipment devices or at another location. In the latter case, the assets can be addressed to appropriate user equipment devices or appropriate user equipment devices can be directed to select the asset, which is broadcast via the network. In this manner, assets can be targeted to individual network users on a basis independent of network topology.

Abstract: A system and method for multimedia scene break detection, including: a computer processor, a scene break detection service executing on the computer processor and comprising functionality to: (i) receive a request for scene break detection on the media item, (ii) perform audio break detection on an audio component of the media item to obtain a set of audio break timestamps, (iii) identify a set of video break timestamps, each corresponding to at least one frame of a video component of the media item, (iv) identify a set of candidate scene break timestamps based on the audio break timestamps and the video break timestamps, (v) execute a computer vision scoring model for each candidate scene break timestamp, and (vi) select, based at least on a score of each of the set of candidate scene break timestamps, a final set of scene break timestamps for performing a media action.
