Abstract: Mechanisms provide intermediate key frame animation during a media seek. A streaming server receives a seek request from a client device while the streaming server provides the client device with a media stream. The seek request is made when the media stream is playing at an initial location and the seek request includes a request to play the media stream from a seek location. In some embodiments, intermediate key frames before the seek location are identified. In other instances, intermediate key frames between the initial location and the seek location are identified. These intermediate key frames are provided to the client device for display before the media stream begins playing at the seek location.

Abstract: The methods and systems described herein provide personalized action items for content items. In one example, the methods and systems identify a plurality of content items, each of which is associated with at least one respective attribute. The system accesses profile information associated with a content consumption session. For each of the plurality of content items, the system determines at least one respective actionable item based on the at least one attribute and on the profile information. The system causes to be displayed the landing interface, which includes a plurality of simultaneously displayed content item identifiers associated with the plurality of content items, respectively, and proximate to each of the displayed content item identifiers, causing to be displayed at least one respective actionable item identifier associated with the at least one respective actionable item, respectively.

Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure provide an effect display method and apparatus, an electronic device and a storage medium, the corresponding custom asset file is acquired in response to the triggering of the target effect; the target effect is configured to display at least one frame of effect image; the custom asset file is loaded through the resource reference interface of the target effect to obtain the association relationship list corresponding to the target effect; and according to the association relationship list, corresponding association relationship information is acquired from the server, and the corresponding effect image is generated based on the association relationship information, and the association relationship information represents the user identifier of the associated user having the association relationship with the current user. The custom asset file is utilized to achieve the decoupling of the step of acquiring the user information.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may provide systems, methods, and device for facilitating language learning using videos. Subtitles may be displayed in a first, target language or a second, native language during display of the video. On a pause event, both the target language subtitle and the native language subtitle may be displayed simultaneously to facilitate understanding. While paused, a user may select an option to be provided with additional contextual information indicating usage and context associated with one or more words of the target language subtitle. The user may navigate through previous and next subtitles with additional contextual information while the video is paused. Other aspects may allow users to create auto-continuous video loops of definable duration, and may allow users to generate video segments by searching an entire database of subtitle text, and may allow users create, save, share, and search video loops.

Abstract: Shoppable video enables a viewer to identify and buy items appearing in a video. To retrieve information about the items in a frame of the video, the playback device generates a perceptual hash of that frame and uses that hash to query a first database storing perceptual hashes of different version of the video. The database query returns an identifier for the frame, which is then used to query a second database that store the item information. The results of this query are returned to the playback device, which shows them to the user, enabling the viewer to learn more about and possibly purchase the item. Using queries based on perceptual hashes of different versions of the video increases the likelihood of returning a match, despite formatting differences. And using separate hash and metadata databases makes it possible to update the metadata without changing the hashes.

Abstract: Example techniques relate to prioritizing media content requests. An example implementation involves a computing system receiving an explicit request to play back a playlist on one or more playback devices of a media playback system. The computing system causes the playback devices to play back a given audio track of the playlist. While the playback devices are playing back first tracks of the playlist, the computing system receives one or more implicit requests for second audio tracks in the playlist. While the playback devices are playing back the second audio tracks of the playlist, the computing system receives an explicit request to play back audio content on a mobile device. The computing system determines that the request to play back the audio content on the mobile device is a higher priority than the requests for second audio tracks and switches playback from the playback devices to the mobile device.
