    Abstract: Multipurpose systems can include networked devices configured to include microphones, motion sensors, video cameras, touchscreens, optical sensors, speakers, or other suitable devices. The networked devices can include networking capabilities that enable the networked device to communicate with target devices and other networked devices. A system of networked devices can identify a target location or a target device by analyzing audio signals received at microphones of the networked devices. For example, a plurality of networked devices can identify a particular networked device that is in closest proximity to a user by analyzing an audio intensity of an audio signal received at the plurality of networked devices. The identified networked device can serve as a master device that can control a state of target devices.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for water metering are disclosed. In one aspect, sensor data can be received from a flexible sensing device fitted to medium that includes a restricted area through which fluid can move over a period of time. At least one of a level of vibration of the medium or a level of audio energy from the medium in the period of time is identified. A flow rate of fluid moving through the restricted area of the medium is determined. An event at a property that receives at least a portion of the fluid moving through the restricted area of the medium is determined. A notification indicating the event at the property is generated.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a distributed mufti-sensor witness integrity sensing platform (WISP) approach which allows for positioning of sensors in an enclosed space. In particular, a WISP platform is divided into two modules, with a base module is connected to multiple edge sensor modules with a wired connection. In general, splitting up the distributed WISP system described herein allows multiple sensors to be placed in an enclosed (and generally inaccessible) location. The sensor data can be transmitted from the multiple edge sensor modules via a connection to the base module. Additionally, the use of the two module system as provided herein allows the sensors to be positioned meters away from the first module.

    Abstract: The technology relates to developing a highly accurate understanding of a vehicle's sensor fields of view in relation to the vehicle itself. A training phase is employed to gather sensor data in various situations and scenarios, and a modeling phase takes such information and identifies self-returns and other signals that should either be excluded from analysis during real-time driving or accounted for to avoid false positives. The result is a sensor field of view model for a particular vehicle, which can be extended to other similar makes and models of that vehicle. This approach enables a vehicle to determine when sensor data is of the vehicle or something else. As a result, the detailed modeling allowing the on-board computing system to make driving decisions and take other actions based on accurate sensor information.

    Abstract: A system for monitoring an extractor fan of an agricultural harvester includes an extractor fan having a shaft configured to be coupled to a rotational drive source for rotationally driving the shaft, a fan hub coupled to a lower shaft end of the shaft such that rotation of the shaft rotationally drives the fan hub about a fan hub axis, with the fan hub extending between an upstream side and a downstream side along the fan hub axis, and fan blades coupled to and extending radially outwardly from the fan hub. The system further includes a sensor that generates data indicative of acceleration of the extractor fan. Additionally, the system includes a computing system that determines an acceleration of the extractor fan based at least in part on the data, and determines whether the extractor is imbalanced based at least in part on the acceleration of the extractor fan.
