Abstract: A system receives, from a user equipment, a request for access to a wireless communication network and identifies, based on the request, baseline radio frequency (RF) response information associated with the user equipment. The system obtains dynamic RF response information associated with the user equipment and authenticates, based on the dynamic RF response information and the baseline RF response information, the user equipment. The system thereby grants the user equipment access to the wireless communication network and determines context information associated with the user equipment. The system generates, based on the baseline RF response information and the context information, user equipment profile information and sends, to a base station associated with the wireless communication network, the user equipment profile information to facilitate access to the wireless communication network by the user equipment.

Abstract: A computer-implementable method employs network signal metadata to train a cognitive learning and inference system to produce an inferred function, wherein the metadata comprises a syntactic structure of at least one network communication protocol. The inferred function is used to map metadata of a detected network signal to a cognitive profile of a transmitter of the detected network signal. The mapping effects intelligent discrimination of the transmitter from at least one other transmitter through corroborative or negating evidentiary observation of properties associated with the metadata of the detected network signal. Information content in the network signal can be determined from the inferred function or the cognitive profile without demodulating the network signal.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for determining whether an incident radio-frequency (RF) signal is from a known transmission source based on a match between a signature of the incident RF signal and at least one stored signature. One or more antennas can generate a plurality of electrical signals corresponding to a portion of a pulse of the incident RF signal. At least one of amplitude or phase values of a first electrical signal and phase coherent second electrical signal can be determined in the frequency domain. The signature of the incident RF signal based on at least one of amplitude or phase values of the first and the second electrical signals can be determined. This signature can be compared with stored signatures to determine whether the incident RF signal is from a known transmission source.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for managing a message relaying system are described. One technique includes an access point (AP) detecting a first signal and a second signal from a computing device. A validation of the first signal is performed based on parameters of the first signal and the second signal. After the validation, information associated with the first signal is transmitted to a computing system. In another technique, the computing system may designate one of multiple APs reporting information regarding first signals as a primary reporting AP and designate the remaining APs as secondary reporting APs. The computing system may instruct the secondary reporting APs to refrain from reporting information regarding first signals to the computing system.

Abstract: An example method may include receiving a pre-payload portion of a packet at a receiver node. A link associated with a sender node of the packet may be identified based on the pre-payload portion. One or more baseband receive parameters associated with the identified link may be selected and loaded at the receiver node. A payload of the packet may be received at the receiver node using the selected baseband receive parameters. Another example method may include detecting arrival of a packet at a receiver node by detecting OTA energy using at least one of multiple antenna sectors. One or more RF receive parameters of the receiver node may be selected based on information included in or determined from the pre-payload portion of the packet. A payload of the packet may be received at the receiver node using the selected RF receive parameters of the receiver node.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of encrypting a data signal for providing to an input of a radio frequency transmitter, such as modulated baseband signals in the physical layer for wireless transmission. The method comprises receiving the data signal comprising one or more first frequency components with a first phase profile in a frequency band of interest; applying a dispersive encrypting signal filter to the data signal to generate an encrypted data signal comprising the one or more frequency components with a second phase profile, wherein the second phase profile is different to the first phase profile. Decryption is achieved by applying a decrypting filter to the encrypted data signal to substantially reverse the effect of the encrypting filter and recover the first phase profile.

Abstract: A home security camera system captures a picture of a visitor and detects information about the visitor's smartphone, thereby providing a two-part digital ID of the visitor. The two-part ID is particularly useful to law enforcement when the picture portion of the ID happens to be blurry or obstructed. In some examples, a packet scanner sniffs probe requests transmitted by the visitor's phone. The packet scanner can be an integral part of the camera or sold separately. To comply with privacy regulations and bypass obfuscation efforts, the system analyzes various characteristics (e.g., data content and arrangement) of the phone's probe requests, rather than having to discover the true MAC address. The system can notify a resident when a particular friend, mail carrier, or porch pirate returns. The system can share collected digital IDs with other community members to provide neighbors with advanced warnings when certain visitors are in the area.
