    摘要: Systems and methods provide for controlling the derivation of QoS rules in the UE by flexibly defining the scope of packet header fields over which packet filter derivation is performed. The scope of packet header fields for derivation of QoS rules may be provided by the network to the UE upon PDU Session establishment or modification. For PDU Session of IP type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination IP address pair and the Source/Destination Port numbers, or only the former. For PDU Session of Ethernet type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination MAC address pair and the IEEE 802.1Q tag, or only the former. The UE may indicate to the network whether it supports the flexible scope of packet filters for RQoS for a PDU session.

    摘要: A method and apparatus to address changes in quality of service in a communication link between two user equipment devices includes establishing the communication link between a first user equipment device and a peer user equipment device, where the communication link services an application executing on the first user equipment. The first user equipment device monitors a current quality of service on the communication link and detects a condition wherein the current quality of service may not be met. Adjusted configuration parameters for the application and new quality of service parameters for the communication link are determined. The adjusted configuration parameters are applied to the application and the new quality of service parameters are applied to the communication link.

    摘要: A cellular transmitting device transmits to a recipient device, using an associated transmitter, outgoing packets that belong to a single particular application. The cellular transmitting device has a Bonding Unit which selectively allocates, at an application level or at Internet Protocol (IP) level: a first subset of the outgoing packets of that single application, for transmission over a first communication link that utilizes a first cellular slice of a cellular network; and a second subset of the outgoing packets of that single application, for simultaneous transmission over a second communication link that utilizes a second cellular slice of that cellular network. Optionally, a plurality of cellular transceivers or cellular identity profiles are used, to transmit in concert the different subsets of the outgoing packets of that single application, via a plurality of transceivers or via a plurality of cellular slices of different cellular networks. The Bonding Unit optionally selects cellular sub-slices that can be carved or manifested or designated at the cellular network level.

    摘要: An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) comprising a transceiver configured to enable wireless communication with a second UE and a wireless device and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured receive, from the second UE, an end-to-end (E2E) quality of service (QoS) requirement of an E2E connection between the second UE and the wireless device, wherein the E2E connection includes a first hop between the UE and the second UE and a second hop between the UE and the wireless device. The processor is further configured to obtain a first hop link condition and a second hop link condition; split the E2E QoS requirement into a first hop QoS requirement and a second hop QoS requirement based on the first hop link condition and the second hop link condition; and transmit, using the transceiver, the first hop QoS requirement to the second UE. The wireless device is a third UE or a base station.
