    Abstract: The techniques and systems herein enable robot management in populated areas. Specifically, a robot management system receives, from a robot system, a requested route and time for the robot system to travel. A dynamic map that includes dynamic and temporal information about an area of the requested route is then used to determine whether the requested route and time are approved, approved with a modified route or time, or disapproved. An approval message, a modified approval message, or a disapproval message is then generated and sent to the robot system. By using the described techniques, municipalities can monitor, manage, and regulate robots across various operators and locations. Doing so may prevent a high density of robots along various routes, disruptions to the services of such robots, and/or disruptions to surrounding pedestrians and vehicles.

    Abstract: A system and method establish bidirectional communication between an UAV terminal and a GCS terminal. Each terminal includes first and second communication modules. The first communication module is based on a radio module and the second communication module is based on wireless communication for data transfer. Through the radio module, the first communication unit of GCS terminal requests the UAV terminal to activate the second communication unit. The flight control data is then transmitted to the UAV terminal from the GCS terminal where the flight mission is planned and optimized.

    Abstract: In one aspect, a computerized method for implementing a text messaging application, database, and system for automated verification of product authenticity includes the step providing an item for sale. The method includes the step of representing the item with a unique identifier (ID) code. The method includes the step of detecting that the item is purchased. The method includes the step of assigning an owner of the item to that unique ID code. The method includes the step of storing an owner identifier, the unique ID code, and a mobile-device number of the owner into a database. The method includes the step of providing an item ownership verification application. The item ownership verification application accesses the database. The method includes the step of, with item ownership verification application, providing an interface to the item ownership verification application in a purchaser's mobile device. The interface comprises a virtual button with a hyperlink that causes a text message to be sent to the owner's mobile device. The method includes the step of, via the interface to the item ownership verification application, receiving the unique ID code when the virtual button is clicked by the purchaser. The method includes the step of, with item ownership verification application, automatically generating and communicating a text message to the owner's mobile device using the mobile-device number. The text message comprises the unique ID code. The method includes the step of displaying the unique ID code on the owner's mobile device.

    Abstract: A computer program product for prioritizing order fulfillment at a retail sales facility receives purchase request information at a retail sales computing device that includes identifying information and order information for the first customer, receives location information for the first customer, processes the received location information for the first customer together with location information of the retail sales facility to predict an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the first customer at the retail sales facility, schedules a time interval for acquiring updated location information for the first customer, and places the identifying information, order information and ETA for the first customer in an order fulfillment queue for all current customers. Entries in the order fulfillment queue are ordered in increasing ETA order. ETA is continuously updated for each customer, and thereby the order for fulfilling customer orders in the order fulfillment queue. For example, if a customer's distance from the retail sales facility increases (for example, due to a mistaken turn), that customer's order will drop to a later-served position in the queue. The location information for the first customer includes GPS-based location information of the first customer that is captured by a GPS device associated with a mobile computing device of the first customer. The location information for the retail sales facility includes GPS-based location information of the retail sales facility. The ETA prediction is performed using the GPS-based location information of the first customer and the GPS-based location information of the retail sales facility.
