Abstract: A system described herein may dynamically determine whether a User Equipment (“UE”) is authorized to access a given Local Area Data Network (“LADN”) based on dynamically determined factors, such as temporal factors, network load factors, registration or de-registration of the UE for the LADN, etc. Updates to such polices may be further used to determine whether the UE is authorized to access the LADN. Thus, the providing of services associated with a LADN may be more dynamic and based on additional factors than a determination of whether UE subscription information (e.g., as provided by a UE information repository) indicates that a given UE has subscribed to the LADN.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a system and method is disclosed for efficient wake up in a wireless communication device for receiving beacons without significantly affecting the battery power and data throughput. Wireless device receives beacons from network elements such as access points. If beacons are not received as scheduled within defined intervals, then the wireless device determines a pattern of beacon reception timings and uses a weighted score process to select the best possible reception timing pattern and uses it as the schedule for receiving beacons on going forward basis, thus avoiding staying awake at all time to receive misaligned beacons.

Abstract: In some implementations, a locating agent may identify, at the locating agent, one or more identifiable access points, each identifiable access point establishing a wireless network and being identifiable to the locating agent via a signal broadcast from the identifiable access point. The locating agent may compare the identified one or more identifiable access points to an access-point database defining known access points to the wireless tracking system. The locating agent may connect to one of the identifiable access points based on the comparing. The locating agent may transmit one or more of sensed and monitoring data captured at the locating agent to an external device via the connected access point.

Abstract: For acquiring system information instances, a method determines if one or more system information instances requested in a request message are received in a reply message from a base station. The request message includes a request bitmap indicating the requested system information instances. The reply message includes a reply bitmap indicating the system information instances in the reply message. The method acquires the system information instances indicated in the request bitmap and the reply bitmap from the reply message. In addition, the method requests the system information instances from the base station that are indicated in the request bitmap and not indicated in the reply bitmap.

Abstract: A wireless telecommunication system includes base stations for communicating with terminal devices. One or more base stations support a power boost operating mode in which a base station's available transmission power is concentrated in a subset of its available transmission resources to provide enhanced transmission powers as compared to transmission powers on these transmission resources when the base station is not operating in the power boost mode. A base station establishes an extent to which one or more base stations in the wireless telecommunications system support the power boost operating mode conveys an indication of this to a terminal device. The terminal device receives the indication and uses the corresponding 10 information to control its acquisition of a base station of the wireless telecommunication system, for example by taking account of which base stations support power boosting and/or when power boosting is supported during a cell attach procedure.
