    Abstract: In some examples, a method for optimizing a medical treatment plan may comprise: receiving preoperative information for an instant patient or intraoperative information for the instant patient; determining, based on the received preoperative information or intraoperative information, an initial medical treatment plan for the instant patient; receiving postoperative kinematics data of the instant patient from a first implant; determining, based on the received postoperative kinematics data and stored information, an updated medical treatment plan for the instant patient; and displaying the updated medical treatment plan on an electronic display. The kinematics data may include: (i) movement information, (ii) position information, and/or (iii) acceleration information; and the stored information may include: (i) the preoperative information for the instant patient, and (ii) preoperative information, intraoperative information, and/or postoperative information from a plurality of previous patients having at least one characteristic in common with the instant patient.

    Abstract: An oral appliance includes an upper arch and a seal. The upper arch may be positioned proximate a maxillary dentition of a user. The upper arch includes a first tab and a second tab positioned on opposite sides of a plane substantially bisecting the upper arch. The seal defines a first receptacle and a second receptacle that may receive the first and second tabs to couple the seal to the upper arch and to inhibit breathing through a mouth of the user.

    Abstract: Wearable sensors and uses thereof are disclosed. Preferred sensors include surface EMG electrodes for measuring electrical muscle activity, by which muscle contraction is measured. Such muscle contraction can be used to determine a person's posture, especially when the contraction being measured is that of core muscles. An alert preferably is provided to a person in real time when an incorrect posture is detected. By providing such biofeedback, a person is trained in maintaining a good posture. Such posture training is believed to heal alleviate or even present lower back pain. Wearable sensors of the invention also can be used to measure contraction in muscles during exercise, including running and strength training, to gain information for use in improving such activities.

    Abstract: Each of a set of wearable sensor bands includes a sensor for collecting movement data. The data is analyzed, from one band or both bands in combination, to determine whether ambulation of the wearer is imminent. The data may be analyzed by a data processor in a band or in a remote computing device. When the data indicates that ambulation is imminent, a control signal is used to provide an intervention to prevent the ambulation, and thereby to avoid a possible fall. The control signal may be transmitted to a band to drive an on-band feedback device to provide an alert to the wearer, or may be transmitted to a feedback device separate from the bands, e.g., a sign or speaker mounted in a hospital, to provide an alert to the wearer or the wearer's caregiver, or may be transmitted to a computing or other device monitored by a caregiver.
