摘要: A system is provided which includes a cannula and a secondary device. The cannula includes an expandable member, a cannula lumen, and a cannula proximal end. The expandable member includes a proximal most end, a distal most end, at least two movable sections, with the space between the at least two moveable sections, and an impermeable membrane extending across the space between each of the at least two moveable sections. In addition, the impermeable membrane extends from the expandable member distal most end to the expandable member proximal most end. The secondary device is configured to be coaxially placed through the cannula lumen. The cannula proximal end is configured to operatively couple to a vacuum source configured to create a negative pressure to pull an undesirable material into the cannula lumen.

摘要: An apparatus includes a base, including two motors and a mechanical coupling mechanism, and a cartridge shaped to define two stators and respective pairs of ports in fluidic communication with the stators. The cartridge is removably insertable into the base and includes two rotors disposed, respectively, within the stators. The mechanical coupling mechanism is configured to mechanically couple the rotors to the motors, respectively, such that, following insertion of the cartridge into the base, the motors rotate the rotors, thereby pumping fluid through the pairs of ports. Other embodiments are also described.

摘要: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a housing enclosing a source of negative pressure and a controller configured to operate the source of negative pressure to provide negative pressure wound therapy to a wound. The housing can also include a communications controller configured to wirelessly transmit and receive data using a communications antenna positioned on an antenna board. The antenna board can be mounted to a communications board that include the communications controller. The antenna board can be electrically connected to the communications board via a single connector on the communications board. The antenna's ground plane can be positioned on the communications board.

摘要: A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an assembly having a fluid impermeable casing having a fluid reservoir at a first end, a fluid outlet at a second end, and a longitudinally extending fluid impermeable layer coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid outlet and defining a longitudinally elongated opening between the reservoir and the outlet. The assembly can further include a fluid permeable support disposed within the casing with a portion extending across the elongated opening, and a fluid permeable membrane disposed on the support and covering at least the portion of the support that extends across the elongated opening, so that the membrane is supported on the support and disposed across the elongated opening. The assembly can further include a tube having a first end disposed in the reservoir and a second, fluid discharge end.

The negative pressure source and/or electronic components may be positioned between a wound contact layer and a cover layer of the wound dressing. A component may be used to prevent wound exudate from contacting the inlet of the negative pressure source.

In some cases, the system can include a pressure source that is configured to provide negative pressure to a wound dressing positioned over a wound. The wound dressing can support the first power source or the second power source.

The adapter (700) and the porous body (510) comprise a free inner space (770, 570) into which the fluid jet emerges when leaving the nozzle (204). The adapter (700) is at least partially transparent, thereby enabling a view into the inner space of the adapter and the porous body. The system according to the invention combines the advantages of cleansing by a fluid jet with the advantages of mechanical cleansing and, at the same time, provides effective protection against aerosols.
