    Abstract: An ultrasound apparatus of a body cavity insertable type includes: a handpiece; a supporting rod that is elongated from the handpiece; an ultrasound probe that includes a housing that is connected to the supporting rod and an ultrasound transducer that is fixed to the housing; and an ultrasound transmission medium circulation mechanism that is configured to discharge an ultrasound transmission medium filled in an ultrasound transmission space that is formed at a front of the ultrasound transducer and to inflow the discharged ultrasound transmission medium to the ultrasound transmission space again. The housing and the ultrasound transducer are configured such that the ultrasound transmission medium filled in the ultrasound transmission space is prevented from inflowing to a rear space of the ultrasound transducer.

    Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to facilitate confirmation that an affected part has been accurately irradiated with therapeutic ultrasonic waves in therapy using an ultrasonic therapeutic device. A control unit executes a therapeutic ultrasonic wave transmission process, an irradiation region image generation process, and a B-mode image generation process. The therapeutic ultrasonic wave transmission process causes an ultrasonic vibrator to transmit therapeutic ultrasonic waves. The irradiation region image generation process causes an ultrasonic probe to transmit a plurality of ultrasonic waves at different timings, synthesizes a plurality of received signals based on the plurality of ultrasonic waves that are reflected by biological tissue and received by the ultrasonic probe, and generates irradiation region data based on harmonic components of the received signals. The B-mode image generation process uses any one of the plurality of received signals to generate B-mode image data of the biological tissue.

    Abstract: Provided herein are noninvasive stimulation methods and apparatus for the treatment of injury to tissues using a novel pulsed laser system that combines the benefits of near-infrared laser light and optoacoustic waves. In certain embodiments, short, high-energy laser light pulses generate low intensity ultrasound waves that travel deep into brain tissues to stimulate neural function and treat neurological dysfunctions. In certain embodiments, a patient interface is provided wherein optoacoustic waves are produced by a plurality of optical absorbers overlying all of a plurality of optical fibers while in other embodiments optoacoustic waves are generated both inside the tissue and outside the tissue via a plurality of optical absorbers overlying some but not all of the optical fibers thus enabling an option of varying proportions of optoacoustic waves generated inside and outside of tissue.
