摘要: The aircraft emergency oxygen supply system includes one or more sources of supplemental breathable oxygen, one or more inlet valves for one or more breathing devices, connected to the inlet valves, and one or more cabin air pressure transducers. A pressure controller controls the inlet valves in response to the one or more cabin air pressure transducers. One or more second pressure transducers may connected to conduits downstream of inlet valves to be monitored, and the pressure controller may also control operation of the inlet valves in response to the one or more second pressure transducers.

摘要: A self-contained breathing apparatus includes an air cylinder pressurized to about 5500 psi, wherein the air cylinder is compatible with infrastructure used in conjunction with the air cylinder. The self-contained breathing apparatus also includes a first regulator valve for reducing air pressure from the air cylinder to a predetermined level. A second regulator valve is also provided for reducing the air pressure from the predetermined level to a level suitable for use by an operator, wherein air is supplied from the second regulator valve to the operator via a mask. The self-contained breathing apparatus further includes a frame for supporting the air cylinder on the back of the operator. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

摘要: A flow through photochemistry apparatus and methods of use are disclosed in the present application. One or more reactant materials are passed through a reaction chamber and are exposed to electromagnetic radiation. The reaction chamber has reflective walls arranged to reflect electromagnetic radiation across the volume of the chamber a plurality of times, thereby increasing the probability of the electromagnetic radiation interacting with the reactive materials. The reaction chamber may be used for sterilization and photochemistry applications.

摘要: A breathing system for removing harmful contaminants, such as microbes and volatile organic compounds, is provided. The breathing system includes a face mask, an inhalation limb, and a plasmonic device. As a contaminated gas flows through an internal chamber of the plasmonic device, the contaminates are oxidized. Specifically, the internal chamber includes a source of photons spaced apart from the nanostructure. The nanostructure is coated in a plasmonic layer, including noble metal nanoparticles. The plasmonic layer is protected from oxidation through a photocatalyst layer disposed thereon.

摘要: A rebreather apparatus includes at least one pressurized container of oxygen, at least one pressurized container of a diluting gas, and at least one valve to supply the oxygen and diluting gas to a rebreathing loop. The valve is controlled by a signal from at least one oxygen sensor, wherein the oxygen and diluting gas combine to form a breathing gas that is circulated by the rebreathing loop. At least one container of calibrating gas stores the calibrating gas at ambient pressure and temperature. At least one valve is connected to the at least one oxygen sensor presenting the calibrating gas to the oxygen sensor during calibration of the oxygen sensor and presenting the breathing gas to the oxygen sensor at all other times.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed that includes an aircraft or repurposed aircraft or fuselage having a cabin capable of pressurization, a way to pressurize the cabin whether by built in machinery or external apparatus, a way to deliver oxygen to a plurality of persons in the cabin, a source of hyperbaric oxygen, a pressure gauge or regulator configured to measure or regulate a pressure of the hyperbaric oxygen or the aircraft, a plurality of face or head coverings configured to provide the hyperbaric oxygen to persons or patients in need thereof, and an optional exhaust system configured to remove gas(es) from the face or head coverings without releasing the gas(es) into the cabin. Each of the face or head coverings includes a gas inlet, a gas outlet, and one or more seals adapted to contain oxygen in the face or head covering at a pressure greater than 1 atm. A related kit and a related method of treating persons with hyperbaric oxygen are also disclosed.
