摘要： An ice skate blade guard comprises a device for limiting/preventing falls and injury on the ice when skate blade guards are inadvertently left on when the skater goes onto the ice. At least one longitudinally-extending bar, blade, or other member provided on the bottom of the guard is sufficiently narrow, sharp, and/or with sharp or biting side edge(s) to bite-into the ice, upon incipient sideways movement, due to the member(s) being biased against the ice and/or due to weight of the wearer. The member(s) prevent sideways slipping, but allow forward movement. The slip-prevention member(s) may be movable in/on the guard and biased downward relative to the main body. In some versions, the slip-prevention blade(s) are fixed to the guard, rigidly and non-moveably protruding from the bottom of the guard.

摘要： The present invention provides a skate guard having an elongated body piece with a longitudinal channel for receiving a skate blade, and an end piece adapted to pivot relative to the body piece. The end piece, which is adapted to receive an end portion of a skate blade, may be pivotally and detachably secured in a closed position whereby a skate blade is held within the guard. In a preferred embodiment, a biased latch member is provided in the end piece to further secure a blade within the guard and to enable a user to install the guard by a step-in process. The end piece is preferably connected to the body piece though an adapter piece that enables the guard to be configured for a variety of skate lengths and shapes. The skate guard preferably includes lateral stabilizing ball and heel segments for added stability when walking and installing the guard.

摘要： An in-line skate cover comprising a web, formed to surround the wheels of the skate on a bottom, front and two side portions; and a tread on said bottom portion of said web, being provided with a high stiffness to resist bowing between adjacent wheels of the skate. The in-line skate has a maximum cross sectional dimension at a position above the wheels smaller than a cross sectional dimension through an axis of the wheels, further comprising an inelastic drawstring in a conduit formed on an upper edge of said web, for constricting an upper aperture of said web at said position above the wheels. An elastic strap is provided extending over a rear upper portion of a hind wheel of the in-line skate. The cover has an open rear portion, and easily accommodates skates of differing sizes. The cover is adapted to be held in wrapped condition around an anatomical body portion, to provide protection and/or support.

The cover is formed like a sheath which stretchably fits over the in-line skate wheels. The cover is at least slightly elastic and flexible, preferably having rubber walls. A tread pattern on the bottom surface of the cover increases traction. A strap on the cover is used to better secure the cover over the skate wheels.

This device comprises a plurality of elongated members that are made of non-slippery material and sized to snugly fit transversely between two of the wheels. These members are linked together, preferably by an elastic rope which is forming a closed loop. The device can be secured to the frame of the roller skate whenever required by placing each member between two of the wheels to prevent the same from rotating. This device is very advantageous because it is inexpensive and very simple to install on a roller skate. It is also very light in weight and compact, thereby making it easy to carry.

摘要： A wheel immobilizing cover for roller blade roller skates includes an elongated channel, a non-adjustable or fixed bridle of flexible, rubberized material which is subject to arcuate movement about an effective pivot point located on the sidewalls of the channel and an adjustable bridle coupled to the base of the channel. The adjustable bridle moves arcuately about the coupling point. The fixed bridle which is detached, at its outer end, from the base captures the front wheel of the roller blade skate wheels on the upper forward quadrant of the wheel and the adjustable bridle captures the rear wheel of the roller blade skate wheels on the upper rear quadrant of the wheel. When the front wheel rotates the wheel drags the flexible fixed bridle along the flexible, fixed bridle effectively pivoting about some pivot point on the channel and because of the difference in the paths of arcuate travel between the front wheel and the fixed bridle, the front wheel is clamped and immobilized. When the rear wheel rotates the wheel drags the adjustable bridle along and because of the difference in the paths of arcuate travel between the rear wheel and the adjustable bridle, the rear wheel is clamped and immobilized.

摘要： A protector for the projecting forward end of a hockey skate blade consists of a one-piece moulding of tough resilient plastics material which conforms to the shape of the forward end of the blade and provides a pair of side flanges extending rearwardly from the frontal portion to lie against opposite sides of the blade adjacent the forward end. As applied to a conventional hockey skate having a toe portion extending from the forward end of the blade to the sole plate, the protector may be secured to the blade by means of integral, inwardly facing, opposed abutment flanges which engage the rear edge of the tow portion. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the toe bracket by which the blade is connected to the sole plate includes an elongated bifurcated portion consisting of a pair of bracket members defining therebetween a slot having a frontal opening, and the protector has a medial web which extends into the slot and is retained by the bracket members.
