摘要： A system and method is provided for pivoting a pilot on a model train, thereby allowing the model train to maneuver around a section of a model train track having a relatively small radius. In one embodiment of the present invention, the model train includes a frame, a shell connected to the frame, at least one truck assembly, at least one pilot and at least one coupler, wherein the coupler includes a coupler assembly and a coupler arm. The pilot is connected to a pilot arm, and the pilot arm, the coupler arm and the truck assembly are pivotally attached to the frame (e.g., via common or different pivots). In another embodiment of the present invention, the model train shell includes an aperture configured to receive a pilot arm. The pilot arm is connected to the pilot, which includes an aperture adapted to receive a coupler arm. The shell aperture is sized to allow the pilot arm to pivot from side to side, and the pilot aperture is sized to allow the coupler arm to pivot from side to side. By allowing the pilot to horizontally pivot, a model train track can be constructed using tighter curves, or curves with smaller radii.

摘要： A train system includes a track and at least one train component. Connectable and detachable segments join to form the track. Each segment includes a main body with an upper running surface upon which train components run. A receiving chamber is formed within the main body. A pair of track members extend outwardly from opposed sides of the main body. A connector component, with a neck portion and a distal portion, extends outwardly from the main body opposite the receiving chamber and engages the receiving chamber of another segment. The segments move in up-down and side-to-side directions. Each train component connects to the track by a pair of rail guides that engage the opposed sides of the main body. A spring element connected between the rail guides operates a switch element to drive a drive member, which engages the upper running surface to move the train component along the track.

摘要： An electric motor driven toy train is disclosed which comprises multiple cars, each of which is articulated about a vertical axis and each of which has only a single axle so as to minimize the turning radius of the train set. A child sits upon the second car, the coal tender, and steers the first car, the locomotive of the set. A small battery driven electric motor drives one wheel of the tender to impart motion of the train set. The cars are interconnected by pivotally articulated connectors having a novel latch structure for interlocking the connectors.

摘要： A toy in which so-called "ball people"--figurines which are capable of rolling along an inclined surface--are transferred from one location to another in such a way as to amuse a child can be constructed so as to include a composite of several transfer mechanisms serving as a unitary transfer mechanism. The disclosed toy includes a more or less tubular tower which extends upwardly from a base. A threaded shaft extends upwardly through the tower. A carrier is located within the tower and is mounted in such a way that as the shaft is rotated the carrier is capable of lifting a figurine from adjacent to a lower or receiving opening to an upper or discharge opening. An inclined chute is provided on the tower so as to receive such a figurine and transport it to a pickup location. An arm mounted upon the upper end of the shaft carries a holder which is rotatable with respect to the tower. When the holder is opposite the pickup location a figurine at the pickup location is taken onto the holder and is rotated to another location where a trap door in the bottom of the holder is opened so that the figurine can be deposited on a runway from which it can be transported away from the transfer mechanism.

摘要： A coupling member for model railway rolling stock comprises an anchoring member for attachment to the end of a model vehicle, a rigid bifurcated member extending from said anchoring member and a resilient tongue extending substantially parallel to the bifurcated member at one side thereof and at a spacing therefrom. The tongue is flexible away from said bifurcated member and carries a latch which is directed towards said bifurcated member. The other side of the bifurcated member is recessed to define a catch. When the coupling member is engaged with an identical counter-coupling, the latch of the counter-coupling is engaged in said catch of the coupling member, one bifurcation of the counter-coupling is engaged in a receptacle defined by the bifurcations of the coupling member, and the other bifurcation of the counter-coupling is engaged in the spacing between the bifurcated member and resilient tongue of the coupling member.
