摘要: Apparatus and process for the continuous production of carbon black or carbon containing compounds. The process is performed by converting a carbon containing feedstock, including generating a plasma gas with electrical energy, accelerating the plasma gas through a nozzle, whose diameter is narrowing in the direction of the plasma gas, guiding the plasma gas into a reaction area where feedstock is injected under conditions generated by aerodynamic and electromagnetic forces, including intense rapid mixing between the plasma gas and feedstock occurs. There is no significant recirculation of feedstock into the plasma chamber, and the reaction zone does not immediately come into contact with any contact surfaces. The products of reaction are cooled, and the carbon black or carbon containing compounds are separated from the other reaction products.

摘要: Provided is an active oxygen supply device capable of more efficiently supplying active oxygen to the surface of an object to be treated. An active oxygen supply device comprises a plasma actuator and a heater in a housing having at least one opening. The plasma actuator comprises a first electrode, a dielectric material and a second electrode, the first electrode is an exposed electrode provided on a first surface that is one of the surfaces of the dielectric material, when a voltage is applied between the first electrode and the second electrode, the plasma actuator generates the dielectric-barrier discharge oriented from the first electrode to the second electrode and induces a flow. The plasm actuator and the heater are disposed so that the induced flow containing active oxygen flows out of the housing through the opening.

摘要: A metal ionic antimicrobial surface configured for external use on a surface location in an indoor environment. A surface structure includes a pair of opposed major surfaces, one surface forming an exposed layer having a pattern of conductive strips and corresponding insulative spacings with a power pod structure secured to the surface structure. The power pod structure houses a battery and a power control circuit electrically connected to the conductive strips. In embodiments, the battery has an amp-hour capacity of 150-1500 mAh, an average width of each conductive strip of copper and silver metallic ions and each insulative spacing is between 0.1 to 0.5 millimeters, and the power control circuit includes a voltage booster circuit that maintains a constant low voltage of 2.5V-4.5V. The antimicrobial surface provides a replaceable period of at least a month of generally continuous and consistent reduction in microbial contaminants when positioned on surface locations that correlate to a zone of high impact regions for transmission pathways of microbial contaminants. In embodiments, a continuous reduction of at least 99% in microbial contaminants and at least a 2× reduction in other contaminated surfaces in a zone within the indoor environment proximate the antimicrobial surface is achieved over the replaceable period.

摘要: Removing GHGs from various industrial and agricultural sources while concurrently generating useful solid and/or gaseous output materials enables an environmentally-clean and scalable approach for permanently dissociating the GHGs. Intra-reactor conditions can be controlled such that the solids produced are useful in advanced materials (e.g., in carbon fibers, in cements and concretes, etc.), and/or controlled in a manner such that the generated gases are useful (e.g., as fuel in hydrogen powered vehicles, in aeronautical and aerospace applications, and in energy storage applications, etc.). Eradicating GHGs (i.e., by dissociating GHGs into constituent carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, etc.) is facilitated through use of interconnected arc discharge reactors. Arc discharge reactors involve simple designs that are both energy efficient and highly scalable to virtually any specification. Moreover, the simplicity of arc discharge reactor designs lead to large scale configurations that can be reliably deployed into diverse geographies or environments having diverse operating conditions.

摘要: Provided are a method and apparatus capable of producing fine particles with favorable particle size distribution. In a production method in which feedstock for fine particle production is supplied intermittently into a modulated induction thermal plasma flame, the feedstock is vaporized to form a gas phase mixture, and the mixture is cooled to produce the fine particles: a modulated induction thermal plasma flame in which the temperature state is time-modulated is generated; the modulated induction thermal plasma flame is switched between a high temperature state and a low temperature state; and when the modulated induction thermal plasma flame is in the high temperature state, the feedstock is supplied together with a carrier gas, and when the modulated induction thermal plasma flame is in the low temperature state, supply of the feedstock is suspended and a gas of the same type as the carrier gas is supplied.
