    摘要: A flow disrupter in a tube chamber of a tube assembly for homogenizing sample materials includes a flow-disrupting body that extends generally transversely into the tube chamber and divides the tube chamber into two sub-chambers. The flow-disrupting body includes at least one narrowed flow passageway through which the sample flows back and forth in both axially reciprocating directions as the tube assembly is vigorously shaken at high speeds faster and more reliably than what can be accomplished by hand shaking. And the flow-disrupting body includes at least two flow-interrupting surfaces facing generally in opposite axial directions and against which the sample impacts in each respective axially reciprocating direction as the tube assembly is vigorously shaken. In this way, the vigorous high-speed shaking of the tube assembly including the flow disrupter results in significant particle-size reduction of the sample by mechanical shear, fluid shear, cavitation, and/or pressure differentials.

In rest conditions the flexible elements are extended substantially perpendicular to the direction of the oscillations of the mass.

    摘要: An apparatus for mixing and/or crushing substances into fine particles is disclosed, wherein the apparatus includes a fluid flow path that is formed by a first structural member having a plurality of cells thereon, each having its front side open, and a second structural member having a plurality of cells thereon, each having its front side open. The first structural member and the second structural member are arranged adjacently each other such that the open front sides of the cells on one structural member face opposite the open front sides of corresponding cells on the other structural member, with the cells on the one structural member being placed in alternate positions with regard to the corresponding cells on the other structural member, and with each of the cells on the one structural member communicating with at least one or more of the cells on the other structural member. When a right-angled isosceles triangle is given and when segments connecting any arbitrary point on two sides and any arbitrary point on a perpendicular from a vertex to a base is given, each of the cells has a shape defining an area that is equal to one half an area of the right-angled isosceles triangle that is obtained by turning the above segments clockwise and counter-clockwise about the arbitrary point on a corresponding side as an origin to intersect these segments with the base, and then by connecting these segments. A method for mixing and/or crushing substances into fine particles is also disclosed, wherein the method comprises steps performed by using the above-described apparatus wherein, a fluid, in which substances to be crushed are mixed, is introduced into an inlet of a cylindrical casing under applied pressure, and then subjected to a mixing and/or crushing process while flowing the fluid through the fluid flow path.

    摘要: A partition diaphragm which divides a grinding chamber of a ball mill into several chambers is formed into a compound structure comprising a primary screen plate and a secondary screen plate, with the slit clearance of the secondary screen plate being smaller than that of the prior art while avoiding the occurrence of blinding. The secondary screen plate of the partition diaphragm is comprised of a wire sieve provided with fine slits having a trapezoidal shape in section. The wire seive is loosely disposed between adjacent members so as to be freely movable to a certain extent. Since there is no sticking of material by movement of the wire sieve in spite of the slit clearance in the wire sieve, fine particles in the partition diaphragm can move smoothly and the two grinding chambers are well-balanced, resulting in an improved grinding efficiency.

    摘要: A division head for a tubular grinding mill for controlling the level of material being ground in the upstream compartment of the mill. The division head is formed by a plurality of hollow pie shaped segments covered on the upstream side by grates which permit material to flow into the division head and liners and on the downstream side. A partition divides the pie shaped segments into radially inward sections and a radially outward section. Material within the radially inward sections flows out of the division head into a downstream compartment of the mill through a central discharge cone. Some of the radially outward sections are flow connected directly to the radially inward sections through an opening in the partition dividing the pie shaped segments. Dampers are provided for controlling flow of material through the opening connecting radially outward sections with radially inward sections. By controlling flow out of the radially outward sections, flow into those sections is controlled and the level of material in the upstream mill compartment can be controlled.

    摘要: A multi-chambered scrubber is employed to thoroughly wash gravels or materials bearing heavy precious metals. The apparatus includes a multi-chambered scrubber drum which is supported at an angle by a frame and adapted to be driven by a variable speed drive system. The scrubber drum includes at least two sections each of which has a polygonal shaped, water-tight interior chamber. Each of the sections is separated by a retainer ring having an opening therein smaller in area than the area of the next preceeding scrubber chamber. The scrubber sections are interchangeable and may be connected one to the other in any of a variety of combinations as may be dictated by the material being scrubbed. The polygonal shape of the scrubber chambers contributes to a greatly improved washing and disintegrating action on the material being treated. The scrubber apparatus also includes a plurality of removable wear plates which can be replaced as they become worn down and damaged.
