摘要: The present disclosure relates to ejector mechanisms and devices for generating a directed stream of droplets, as well as improved methods for delivering an ejected stream of droplets to a target. The device and methods may be useful for the delivery of fluid for ophthalmic, topical, oral, nasal, or pulmonary use, more particularly, for use in the delivery of ophthalmic fluid to the eye. Certain aspects of the disclosure relate to devices and methods for the delivery of a therapeutically effective low dosage volume medicament composition to a target, e.g., by controlling charge, droplet size and/or droplet deposit parameters of the medicament composition.

The manifold contains a circular piezoelectric element. The shroud is positioned on the base. The shroud defines a chimney that is centered along a longitudinal axis. The manifold includes an annular wall that extends from the manifold. A spring is disposed within the manifold and is coaxial with the annular wall. A top end of the spring is wrapped around the annular wall and a bottom end of the spring applies a force against the piezoelectric element.

摘要: An aerosol-generating device is provided, including: an elongate housing, and an aerosolisation module detachably insertable into the housing, the module including a vibratable transducer to aerosolise a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, electrical contacts in communication with the transducer to connect with corresponding contacts of the housing, and an electrically conductive membrane including an aerosol generation zone, the transducer coupled to the membrane to vibrate it, and a portion of the membrane forming electrical contacts of the module, the housing containing a power source and configured to detachably receive the module to establish a detachable electrical connection, a sidewall of the housing including an aperture defining an access opening to a cavity within the housing and containing the contacts, and the contacts of the housing and the module being configured such that insertion of the module into the cavity results in electrical connection between the contacts of the housing and the module.

摘要: An aerosol delivery system that includes an aerosol generator that aerosolizes a fluid for delivery to a patient as a patient inhales. The aerosol delivery system includes a pump coupled to the aerosol generator that pumps the fluid to the aerosol generator, and a breath sensor that emits a signal as the patient breathes. A controller couples to the aerosol generator, the pump, and the breath sensor. In operation, the controller receives the signal from the breath sensor, controls a flow of fluid to the aerosol generator in response to the signal, and controls the aerosol generator to start aerosolizing the fluid before the patient inhales.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method for manufacturing an aperture plate includes depositing a releasable seed layer above a substrate, applying a first patterned photolithography mask above the releasable seed layer, the first patterned photolithography mask having a negative pattern to a desired aperture pattern, electroplating a first material above the exposed portions of the releasable seed layer and defined by the first mask, applying a second photolithography mask above the first material, the second photolithography mask having a negative pattern to a first cavity, electroplating a second material above the exposed portions of the first material and defined by the second mask, removing both masks, and etching the releasable seed layer to release the first material and the second material. The first and second material form an aperture plate for use in aerosolizing a liquid. Other aperture plates and methods of producing aperture plates are described according to other embodiments.

摘要: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes at least one housing, a nozzle, a piezoelectric or piezomagnetic material, a control component, and a transport element. The at least one housing may enclose a reservoir configured to retain an aerosol precursor composition. The nozzle may be coupled to the housing to discharge aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir. The control component may include a microprocessor coupled to and configured to drive the piezoelectric or piezomagnetic material to vibrate and cause a discharge of components of the aerosol precursor composition and thereby produce an aerosol for inhalation by a user. And the transport element may be configured to control an amount of aerosol precursor composition delivered from the reservoir.

摘要: A non-thermal mist-delivery device comprises a replaceable bottle system comprising (i) a bottle comprising an internal liquid-storage volume for holding a liquid, and (ii) a cap comprising a piezo assembly including an ultrasonically vibrable mesh membrane, a housing shaped to hold the replaceable bottle system therewithin, the housing comprising a fan, an air inlet and an annular air outlet, the inlet and the outlet defining an airflow path circumventing the replaceable bottle; control circuitry operative to electrically activate the fan and the piezo assembly in response to a user input, respectively to generate an airflow and to non-thermally deliver, via the aerosol outlet, a mist comprising droplets of the liquid.
