Abstract: A method for calibrating a metal profile blank configured as a hollow-chamber profile having at least one solid wall. A pressing tool is closed in a main direction about one end region of an element of the profile blank until surfaces of the pressing tool lie against a pair of surfaces of the profile blank to be calibrated, deforming and bending the at least one end region of the element. The pressing tool is closed in a secondary direction perpendicular to the main direction until surfaces of the pressing tool lie against surfaces of the at least one end region, and wedge-like limbs of a drive element of the pressing tool engage wedge-like dies of the pressing tool. The pressing tool is closed further in the secondary direction, subjecting the profile blank to plastic deformation so as to reduce or eliminate the bending of the end region.

Abstract: Roll-forming machine for forming, from a flat sheet metal strip (5), a hat beam which has a profile that varies along its length. The machine comprises several consecutively arranged forming stations, each of which comprising a first pair of clamping rollers (22a, 22b) for clamping a side flange (3a) of the hat beam and a second pair of clamping rollers (23a, 23b) for clamping a central flange (2) thereof. The clamping rollers of said second pair are individually displaceable in vertical direction and horizontally in the feeding direction of the sheet metal strip. The displacement of the clamping rollers (23a, 23b) of said second pair is controlled by an electronic control device during a forming operation such that a plane that goes through the centre axes (CA3, CA4) of both these clamping rollers is maintained perpendicular to the part of the central flange (2) received in the nip (31) between these clamping rollers.

Abstract: Disclosure is a pocket flange forming device for a duct. When a plate enters a forming molding unit provided at the opposite sides of the forming device while being seated on a transfer unit, pocket flanges serving as duct connecting portion are formed on longitudinal edges on the opposite sides of the plate through the forming-molding method such as bending, folding, and compressing in addition to transferring, and the forming molding unit is rotated by 180 degrees to match with molding positions of forming rollers of the left and right forming molding unit, and a gap between the forming molding unit and another forming molding unit is set by a gap adjusting part, so that the pocket flanges having the same size or different sizes at the opposite sides thereof can be molded at the same time. Accordingly, the production performance and productivity of the pocket flanges can be enhanced.

The systems and methods receive values for parameters of properties of the material and of a bending process to be performed by the bend forming tool, creating or retrieving a calibration curve relating input bending parameter and resultant bending parameter based on the values from a database of calibration curves, determining a first springback compensated input bending parameter based on the target resultant bending parameter using the calibration curve, inputting the first springback compensated input bending parameter to the bend forming tool, and in a first step of bending the material, bending the material to the first springback compensated input bending parameter by applying the bending process using the bend forming tool.
