摘要： A wrench has a roller motion transmission mechanism that changes reciprocating motion of a driving member to unidirectional rotational motion of a driven member. The wrench has a head with a cylindrical inside wall surrounding a body with a plurality of ramps inclined toward the cylindrical inside wall. A wedging member comprising a cylindrical roller engages each ramp and the cylindrical inside wall of the head. A cage anchored to the body retains the wedging members in contiguous locations relative to the ramps and the cylindrical inside wall of the head. Retainers connected to the cage bias all of the wedging members into engagement with the ramps and the cylindrical inside wall of the head.

摘要： A utility tool for operating a utility meter set includes an elongate body member having opposed first and second ends. A regulator cap member is coupled to a first end of the body member and defines an aperture configured to grip a regulator cap of the meter set. The regulator cap member may include first and second portions in communication with one another and configured to loosen multiple regulator cap models, respectively. A service valve member is coupled to the second end of the body member and has an offset wrench head for operating a service valve of the meter set. A pressure adjustment member is coupled to the body member intermediate the opposed ends for adjusting the regulator pressure once the regulator cap is removed. The body member defines one or more bypass apertures having a configuration complementary to that of a bypass plug associated with the meter set.

摘要： A preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed to a rotary tool and, more specifically, to a pneumatic wrench that can be used as both a standard socket wrench and as a fastening tool for setting HI-LOK-type fasteners commonly used in the aviation industry. In a preferred embodiment, the wrench comprises a handle and a rotational member connected to the handle, said rotational member configured for exerting torque about an axis of rotation in one direction only. The wrench further comprises a hole extending through the rotational member along the axis of rotation. The hole has two ends each having female threads. One end has right-hand threads and the second end has left-hand threads. The tool further comprises socket adaptors having right-hand and left-hand male threads for attaching the adaptors to the wrench. Each socket adaptor also has a through hole that aligns with the hole in the rotational member. The holes allow a hex key to be inserted through the wrench so that the wrench can be used to fasten HI-LOK fasteners. The simple design of the tool results in a wrench that is easy to use and relatively inexpensive to manufacture. A preferred embodiment of the invention further comprises a method of using the wrench.

摘要： An extension tool is provided for operating handwheels, such as those found on locomotive handbrakes. The tool includes a spinning handle and a tool body. The handle freely rotates about a longitudinal axis and provides a user with a spinning grip, allowing him or her to quickly and easily turn a handwheel. The tool body includes two or more jaws that clamp to the handwheel. The tool body additionally includes a screw mechanism for selectively tightening or releasing the jaws, in order to respectively attach or detach the tool from the handwheel as desired. Preferably, the screw mechanism further includes a drawbar that extends through an interior of the handle, and is adapted to move longitudinally to rotate the jaws. The drawbar is moved by rotating a threaded drawbar nut at an end of the tool.
