摘要: In response to determining that a code image is to be formed such that a particular direction is same as a scanning direction, a controller performs divided recording processing of controlling a head and a carriage to: (a) record a plurality of first portions with liquid ejected from the head during a first movement of the head in the scanning direction; and (b) record a plurality of second portions with liquid ejected from the head during a second movement of the head in the scanning direction. The plurality of second portions are located at an at least partially different position from the plurality of first portions with respect to a conveyance direction. The second movement is a movement in a direction opposite the first movement. The second movement is performed after the first movement without performing conveyance processing between the first movement and the second movement.

摘要: An ink jet recording method is provided for a low or non-absorbable recording medium using a solution containing a colored ink, a clear ink, and an aggregating agent for aggregating constituents in the colored ink. The method includes: causing the solution containing the aggregating agent to adhere to the recording medium; and a main scanning in which the colored and the clear inks are ejected while relative positions of an ink jet head and the recording medium are changed to a main scanning direction, and a sub-scanning in which the relative positions of the ink jet head and the recording medium are changed to a sub-scanning direction. The main scanning involves a region where a recording region in which the colored ink is ejected in the main scanning and a recording region in which the clear ink is ejected in the main scanning overlap one another.

摘要: An ink jet method includes: a discharging step of discharging a radiation-curable ink jet composition onto a recording medium at an ink weight per dot of 22 ng/dot or less by using an ink jet head having a nozzle density of 600 npi or more and configured to discharge the radiation-curable ink jet composition; and an irradiating step of irradiating, with radiation, the radiation-curable ink jet composition attached to the recording medium. The radiation-curable ink jet composition contains polymerizable compounds containing a monofunctional monomer and a multifunctional monomer. The monofunctional monomer includes a nitrogen-containing monofunctional monomer. The amount of the monofunctional monomer is 90 mass % or more relative to the total amount of the polymerizable compound. The amount of the nitrogen-containing monofunctional monomer is from 1 to 15 mass % relative to the total amount of the polymerizable compounds.

摘要: According to the invention, there is provided a recording method which includes adhering an ink composition to a recording medium, and adhering a reaction liquid to the recording medium, the reaction liquid containing water and a reagent for aggregating or thickening components of the ink composition, and having a pH of 7 to 10. In the adhering of the reaction liquid, an epoxy-based adhesive is used for at least a portion of a reaction liquid passage for supplying the reaction liquid to an ink jet head, and a member in contact with the reaction liquid in the ink jet head, and the reaction liquid is discharged from the ink jet head so as to adhere to the recording medium.

摘要: In a printing chip overlapping area being an area in which a first printing chip and a second printing chip overlap with each other when viewed from a second direction, ink is discharged so that a first overlapping area and a second overlapping area at least partially do not overlap with each other when viewed from the second direction. In the first overlapping area, a nozzle usage ratio of a first nozzle row and a nozzle usage ratio of a third nozzle row are neither 0% nor 100%. In the second overlapping area, a nozzle usage ratio of a second nozzle row and a nozzle usage ratio of a fourth nozzle row are neither 0% nor 100%.
