    Abstract: A recording method which uses a water-based ink composition and a treatment liquid containing an aggregating agent, includes: a main scanning to eject the ink composition and the treatment liquid from an ink jet head so as to be adhered to a recording medium while the ink jet head is transferred with respect to the recording medium; a sub-scanning to transport the recording medium in a sub-scanning direction which intersects a direction of the main scanning; and a ventilation step of sending a wind to the recording medium in the main scanning. In the main scanning, by a portion of the ink jet ink head to eject the ink composition and the treatment liquid located upstream in the sub-scanning direction, the ink composition and the treatment liquid are overlapped and adhered to the same main scanning region of the recording medium by the same main scanning, and by a portion of the ink jet ink head to eject the ink composition and the treatment liquid located downstream in the sub-scanning direction, the ink composition is adhered to the recording medium, and when the ink composition is adhered thereto, the treatment liquid is not overlapped and adhered to the same main scanning region of the recording medium by the same main scanning. In addition, when the main scanning is performed, the recording medium to which the ink composition and the treatment liquid are adhered has a surface temperature of 33° C. or less.

    Abstract: A medium heating apparatus includes a heating unit to heat a medium, a control unit to control the heating unit, a main frame to house the control unit, a sub frame attached to the main frame, and an air blower that blows air to the control unit. The heating unit includes a heat source. The heating unit and the main frame are arranged in a first direction. The main frame and the sub frame are arranged in a second direction. An intake port is open at the main frame, a ventilation port in communication with the intake port and an air drawing port in communication with outside of the sub frame are open at the sub frame. The blower blows air into the main frame through the intake, the ventilation and the air drawing ports. The air drawing port does not overlap the heating unit in the second direction.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for cooling paper within a printer assembly that includes at least one misting assembly designed to mist an aqueous solution onto an unprinted surface of paper stock after a first side is printed. At least one convection accelerator assembly is designed to accelerate evaporation of the aqueous solution before the printed paper stock arrives at the at least one printing station for printing on the unprinted surface. At least one or more of a paper temperature, machine temperature, printhead temperature, and humidity sensor are operationally coupled to at least one controller assembly programmed to control at least one or more of misting, humidity, and airflow. The at least one controller assembly is designed to determine the heat to be dissipated into the airflow from the printed paper stock to obtain a targeted paper temperature and, therefore, the amount and placement of aqueous solution misted.
