Abstract: A first connector on a case front wall of a battery pack is connected to a first electric motor with a first power line interposed therebetween. A second connector on a case rear wall of the battery pack is connected to a second electric motor with a second power line interposed therebetween. A fuel tank is arranged behind the battery pack. A muffler is disposed on an exhaust pipe extending from an engine toward the rear along a side surface in a vehicle width direction of the battery pack and is inclined so as to be near the fuel tank behind the battery pack. The second power line is at least partially arranged in a space surrounded by the second connector, the fuel tank, and the muffler as seen in a vertical direction.

Abstract: A control system includes a transmission with a directional clutch and control assembly clutches coupled together and configured for selective engagement to transfer power. A controller is configured to selectively actuate the directional clutch and the control assembly clutches with clutch commands to implement a first split mode in which combined power is transferred to drive the output shaft, a first direct drive mode in which power from only the engine to drive the output shaft, and a first series mode in which power is transferred from primarily the at least one motor to drive the output shaft. The controller is further configured to implement a transient boost function within at least a portion of the first series mode in which the at least one directional clutch is partially engaged to supplement power from the at least one motor with power from the engine to drive the output shaft.

Abstract: A transmission includes an input shaft, an output shaft, a first planetary gear mechanism, a second planetary gear mechanism, and a first variable device. The first planetary gear mechanism includes a first carrier connected to the input shaft, a first planetary gear connected to the first carrier, a first sun gear connected to the first planetary gear, and a ring gear connected to the first planetary gear. The second planetary gear mechanism includes a second sun gear connected to the first carrier, a second planetary gear connected to the second sun gear, and a second ring gear connected to the second planetary gear and connected to the first ring gear. The first variable device is connected to the first ring gear and the second ring gear to continuously change a speed ratio of the output shaft to the input shaft.

Abstract: A control device comprising an electric power supply control part controlling a supply of electric power to a rotary electrical machine so as to use the output electric power of a second battery to make up for insufficient output electric power of a first battery when driving a vehicle by just drive power of the rotary electrical machine and a startup preparation starting part starting a supply of electric power to the catalyst device to start preparation for startup of the internal combustion engine if driving a vehicle by just drive power of the rotary electrical machine and the state of charge of the second battery becomes less than the state of charge for preparation for startup. The startup preparation starting part is configured to increase the state of charge for preparation for startup when the maximum output electric power of the first battery calculated based on the state of the first battery is small compared to if it is large.

Abstract: An mechanical power system provides torque without using a heat engine where fossil-fuel engines have conventionally been used, by replacing the fossil-fuel burning engine with a rotary pneumatic motor and feeding pressure-regulated compressed gas to the rotary pneumatic motor. The rotary pneumatic motor can be used anywhere, and requires preferably compressed nitrogen in a non-liquid state. Automotive, marine and electrical generating applications are adaptable, and auxiliary power is available for emergencies where a supply of compressed gas has been exhausted. A screw-type compressor can be electrically powered to supply compressed gas to the pneumatic motor where tanks of compressed gas have been exhausted. An electrical generating power plant includes an array of solar panels for generating direct current (DC) and a DC/AC converter for converting the DC to alternating current (AC) and outputting a portion of the AC via a power plant output port to supply an AC load.
