Abstract: A traveling vehicle includes a mechanical brake link mechanism to transmit operation of a brake pedal to a brake device housed in a case and to control brakes of right and left rear wheels. The brake link mechanism includes a pair of brake rods extending in a front-back direction at sides of the case. A guard assembly includes a pair of guards extending in the front-back direction below the pair of brake rods. The pair of brake rods overlaps the pair of guards in a vertical direction. In a side view of the traveling vehicle, the pair of brake rods includes a higher portion positioned above a lower surface of the case to be distanced by a predetermined interval or more and positioned above the lower surface of the case, and a lower portion positioned below the higher portion. The pair of guards overlaps at least all of the lower portions in the vertical direction.

Abstract: An axial force transmitter for an actuating device of a brake system. A parachute is positioned on a payload device, such as a racecar, to slow or stop the payload upon receipt of an electronic deployment activation signal. The electronic deployment signal is verified, including determining proper voltage and source. The deployment system includes multiple redundancies including mechanical deployment redundancy, remote deployment redundancy, and power supply redundancy. The control module responsible for monitoring deployment includes indicators and sensors to indicate a status, operation, or mode relative to the operability of the payload device, relative to components of the release mechanism, and relative to the parachute deployment.

The sheath layer comprises an inner sheath layer, and an outer sheath layer covering the inner sheath layer. The inner sheath layer comprises a crosslinked very low density polyethylene. The main component of the outer sheath layer is polyurethane. Relative to 100 parts by mass of resin component in the inner sheath layer, the very low density polyethylene content is between 20 parts by mass and 100 parts by mass inclusive. The elastic modulus of the inner sheath layer at 25° C. is between 5 MPa and 30 MPa inclusive.

Abstract: A tire engaging brake for use with a vehicle having a vehicle frame supporting a tire from a suspension includes a base securable to the vehicle frame, a brake pad mounting arm pivotally connected to the base, and a brake pad connected to the brake pad mounting arm. An over-center linkage has an inner link pivotally connected at an inner end to the base at a position spaced from the pivotal connection of the brake pad mounting arm to the base. An outer link of the over-center linkage is pivotally connected at an inner end to the inner link and is pivotally connected at an outer end to the brake pad mounting arm. A lever arm is cooperable with the inner link for pivoting the inner link, the outer link and the brake pad mounting arm between a retracted position and a tire engaging position in which the inner link and the outer link extend in an over-center condition.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a base having a length and including a plurality of caster wheels enabling movement of the patient support apparatus across a floor surface. A drive mechanism including a motor may be configured to drive the auxiliary wheel. A braking system including at least one brake member may be configured to apply a braking force to decelerate the auxiliary wheel and is movable between a first position wherein the at least one brake member is disengaged from the auxiliary wheel and a deployed position wherein the at least one brake member is frictionally engaged with the auxiliary wheel to restrict rotation of the auxiliary wheel. The braking system may be configured to synchronize the braking forces applied to first and second auxiliary wheels.

The brake assembly (110) may be operably coupled to at least one of the first and second drive wheels (32) to enable brakes to be selectively applied to the first and second drive wheels (32) based on a position of the steering lever (34). The cable tensioner (250) may be configured to activate the brake assembly (110) relative to the at least one of the first and second drive wheels (32) in response to the steering lever (34) being moved outwardly to an outboard position. The mechanical linkage assembly (120) may be configured to provide a greater amount of rotation of the cable tensioner (250) than a magnitude of rotation of the steering lever (34) when the steering lever (34) is moved from the inboard position to the outboard position.

Abstract: A park brake system for adjusting a tension in a brake cable that is coupled to a park brake. The park brake system can include a driver that is communicatively coupled to a microcontroller, and an actuator that is rotatably displaceable by operation of the driver. An equalizer assembly can be linearly displaced along the rotating actuator to adjust a tension in the brake cable. The microcontroller can monitor a current being drawn by the driver as the driver is operated, and generate instructions to cease operation of the driver upon the current reaching a predetermined current threshold that corresponds a maximum force that is to be applied by the park brake. The microcontroller can also, when the park brake is being released from a set position, count pulses outputted by an encoder in connection with determining whether the park brake has reached a running clearance position.
