摘要: A system is for monitoring subsea parameters and is deployable in a water column. The system has: a tether to be moored to a seabed; a variable buoyancy member; one or more sensor units for sensing one or more subsea parameters; and a control unit. The control unit has a communication member for receiving data from the sensor unit(s) and for transmitting the data wirelessly to a remote recipient. The variable buoyancy member is adapted to move the communication member between a submerged position and a surface position for the wireless transmittal of data. The control unit is adapted to control the buoyancy of the variable buoyancy member. A non-variable buoyancy member is connected at an upper portion of the tether. The submerged position of the communication member is below the position of the non-variable buoyancy member. A method is for monitoring subsea parameters.

In deep water the tank is held at a depth above the base for temperature controlled stabilization of produced oil in the tank.

摘要: Submarine (6) devices consisting of cavity to hold sand and an inflatable air bladder (10) are located beneath and connected to floating buoys (2). The weight of the sand when put inside the cavity is enough to sink buoy (2) until submarine (6) sits on the bottom of a lake or river. When bladders (10) are inflated by air supplied by an air compressor or a portable air tank, and distributed through a network of polyethylene tubing. They create enough buoyancy to offset the downward pull of the sand, thus allowing the buoys (2) to float back to the surface of the water.

摘要: An undersea release apparatus for positively releasing a connecting link from an underwater device, the apparatus comprising a latching mechanism on the device for latching the connecting link to the device in a latched condition, and for unlatching the connecting link to be free of the device in an unlatched condition. A driving mechanism positively moves the latching mechanism to its unlatched condition. The driving mechanism drives a rotatable cam which retains a pelican hook at a fixed latched position, and positively drives the pelican hook from the latched position to an unlatched position. The apparatus is also provided with an arming function, whereby the rotatable cam is rotated in a direction opposite to that which is effective to unlatch the connecting link, whereby the pelican hook is pivoted back to its first or latched position in which the pelican hook relatches with the connecting link.

摘要: A mooring system and method of anchoring a buoyant module (16) in a submerged location in the sea for supporting an underwater structure such as a plurality of acoustical arrays (18) for receiving and transmitting acoustical signals is disclosed. The buoyant module (16) is held in a submerged position by at least one anchor leg or line (46) anchored to the sea floor and of a variable length to permit controlled movement of the module (16) to the sea surface (10) for servicing. The single anchor line (46) is a stretchable line and includes an upper segment (56) formed of a Kevlar material and a lower segment (58) formed of a nylon material. Line 46 may stretch easily for a length of 400 feet, a preferred submerged depth of the module (16). Module (16) includes a constant buoyant material (36) and a source of compressed gas (32) controlled by a remotely actuated valve (40) to provide a variable buoyancy.

摘要: A method and device for fishing up an immersed body from a position spaced from and disposed above the immersed body. A fishing member is moored to the body, with the member including a support integral with the body and a releasable portion. The support and the releasable portion are initially assembled together. The releasable portion is released, leading to the separation of the releasable portion and the support. Upon the releasable portion reaching the position, at the level of the position lift connecting members are moored to the fishing member, with the lift connecting members being attached to the body and to the releasable portion. This fishing member is actuated so as to place the body in a vicinity of the fishing member.

摘要: A pin release assembly in which a release pin and a pull pin have mating tions which interlock within a fixed collar. The interlocking surfaces of the mating portions are oriented parallel to or normal to the longitudinal axis of the pins so that no frictional side loads are produced when the interlocked pins are pulled in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis. The release is actuated by sliding the interlocked pins within the collar. The length of travel of the release pin necessary to accomplish the desired release is coordinated with the length of travel of the mating portions within the collar so that the interlocking surfaces are pulled from the confinement of the collar at the same time as the release is accomplished, thereby permitting the pull pin and the release pin to freely separate.
