Abstract: Guide system for a conveyor belt, including a first guide and a second guide, each of which is arranged to be positioned in contact with a respective side of the conveyor belt, two transmission kinematic mechanisms which connect the first and the second guide to one another, and an actuator arranged to exercise a direct thrust orthogonally to the longitudinal plane on at least one between the first and the second guide. The transmission kinematic mechanisms are arranged at a certain distance from one other and aligned along the advancement direction and each transmission kinematic mechanism includes a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod, the first guide is connected to the first connecting rods of the two kinematic mechanisms at a plurality of axes of rotation aligned along a direction parallel to an advancement direction of the belt.

Abstract: A conveyor belt monitoring system may utilize one or more ultrasonic sensors to identify variations in the position of the conveyor belt. These variations may be minor variations in belt position, which can be identified by the belt monitoring system well before they would be readily perceptible by a user. The monitoring system may be operated in conjunction with one or more belt adjustment mechanisms which can be used to correct the path of the conveyor belt based on information gathered by the monitoring system.

Abstract: An active drive spiral conveyor belt system includes a drum configured to rotate about a drum axis, a plurality of modules, a plurality of cross-rods joining together the plurality of modules, and an infeed system. The drum can include a plurality of drive bars, each with a drive member extending therefrom, and spaced an arc length. At least some of the plurality of cross-rods or modules can include a drive end configured to engage with the drive members. The plurality of modules can be configured to be collapsible relative to each other and the plurality of cross-rods. The infeed system can be configured to collapse the spacing between adjacent drive ends prior to transiting into engagement with a cooperating drive member.

Abstract: The various embodiments of the present invention disclose an apparatus, modular tracking unit and a method for conveyor belt alignment. The apparatus provides alignment sustenance and wide-angle coverage. The apparatus includes a plurality of modular tracking units, a linking mechanism including a connecting rope passing through a link of each of the modular tracking units and a pair of guide rollers. The invention triggers the pair of guided rollers on misalignment of the conveyor belt from original path. The guided roller activates the linking mechanism to move the modular tracking units in tandem for re-aligning the conveyor belt.

Abstract: A tracking apparatus and method for urging a mistracking conveyor belt towards a correct travel path are disclosed. The apparatus and method utilize downstream shifting of an end portion of an idler roller due to mistracking of the conveyor belt for steering the belt back toward its correct travel path and a reaction force from the belt due to the steering thereof for energizing a tilting action of the idler roller to raise the downstream end portion thereof. The idler roller is mounted to the conveyor structure via a frame assembly including a tilt device mounted internally within the idler roller. The roller is rotatably mounted to an inner tube, and the inner tube member is pivotally mounted to the tilt device, which in combination allow the idler roller to pivot, shift, and tilt to steer a mistracking conveyor belt in relative proportion to degree of mistracking of the belt.

Abstract: A tracking apparatus and method for urging a mistracking conveyor belt back towards a correct travel path are provided. The apparatus and method both utilize downstream shifting of an end portion of an idler roller due to mistracking of the conveyor belt for directing or steering the belt back toward its correct travel path and a reaction force from the belt due to the steering thereof for energizing a tilting action of the idler roller to raise the downstream end portion thereof. In this manner, the tilting of the idler roller is not mechanically coupled to the downstream shifting of the roller end portion allowing the belt tracking apparatus herein to be bi-directional for use with conveyor belts that may be run in opposite travel directions.
