The method includes the steps of feeding one or more input streams of items toward a turret having a longitudinal axis and arms for engaging the items, the arms being rotatable about the longitudinal axis. The number of input streams can be different than the number of output streams. The items can be fed onto the one or more output streams.

摘要： A matrix conveying system for intended use in sorting articles and related methods of conveying and sorting articles are disclosed. In one embodiment, the matrix system comprises a plurality of first conveyors extending in a first direction and a plurality of second conveyors extending in a second direction, each intersecting the plurality of first conveyors. A transfer conveyor, such as a transpositor conveyor, may be provided for transferring articles from one of the first conveyors to one of the second conveyors. The system may be used to sort articles delivered from one or more storage locations for distribution, or may instead be used to sort articles for delivery to one or more storage locations.

摘要： A shaft-like parts feeding apparatus is disclosed, which includes a parts feeder (6) for delivering shaft-like parts (1), and a feed path extending from the parts feeder (6) to a point short of a feed rod (21), wherein a shaft-like part held by a holding head (1) of the feed rod (20) is inserted into a receiving hole (35) in an electrode (22). An excessively long parts detecting means which detects and removes excessively long parts (1A) longer than normal length is disposed in the parts feeder (6) or in the feed path, and the spacing between the receiving hole (35) and the holding head (20) with the feed rod (20) having stopped at a predetermined position after advancing, is set to an excessively short parts expelling spacing (L) which prevents excessively short parts (1C) shorter than normal length from reaching the receiving hole (35). Shaft-like parts of abnormal length are removed in the feed path extending from the parts feeder to the electrode by a system having a cooperative feature, i.e., a system feature.

摘要： Provided is a method and apparatus for grasping, lifting, removing, and dropping a finish-printed product, for example, a T-shirt from a screen table which serves as a platform for the screen-printing process. The apparatus employs a gripping device which grips portions of a T-shirt that hang over opposite edges of the screen table. Once the T-shirt is gripped, it is lifted vertically from the printing platform, moved horizontally away from the printing platform, and then dropped, preferably, upon a conveyor dryer assembly.

摘要： The transfer apparatus comprises a transfer arm (16) and a distributor (18). The transfer arm has two axes of movement (22,26) and is non-extendable so that it moves between a take-off station and an intermediate station (I) through a fixed distance. The distributor (18) has a table (50) which receives a shoe (S) at the intermediate station (I). Furthermore, the table (50) can be positioned at any one of four stations (I,F1,F2,F3) each aligned with a channel (12) of a heat setting apparatus (14). A pneumatic control circuit causes shoes (S) fed successively to the table (50) to be transferred in a sequence to the channels (12) by operation of pusher means.The apparatus is suitable for transferring shoes from a lasting machine, a shoe support (10) of which can be positioned at the take-off station, to a heat setting apparatus (14).

摘要： An apparatus is disclosed for transferring articles between adjacent conveyors. The apparatus includes a first conveyor for conveying articles therealong. A pushing device includes a pair of spaced plates that are disposed in the same plane. The plates move transversely relative to the articles supported by the first conveyor. A pair of gripping arms move to a first position to grasp the laterally pushed articles. The gripping arms together with the grasped articles are moved laterally and away from the direction of movement of the articles along the first conveyor. The gripping arms are moved to a second position in which the articles are released onto a second conveyor disposed adjacent to and laterally relative the first conveyor. The apparatus has particular utility relative to the stabilization of packaged articles during transit through a wrapping and sealing station prior to heat shrinkage.
