摘要: Nickel-based catalysts comprising silicon modified nickel (nickel silicate) are provided, as are methods for using the catalysts to i) convert methane to CO and H2 (e.g. for use in synthetic chemical compound production); or to ii) convert methane to oxygenated hydrocarbons e.g. one or more of methanol, acetone, formaldehyde, and dimethyl ether. The catalysts are bifunctional and comprise both Ni metallic catalytic sites and acidic nickel-silicon catalytic sites, and the conversions are performed under moderate reaction conditions.

摘要: Methods of producing metal catalysts can include mixing two or more metal salts and an aluminum salt in water to produce a metal catalyst precursor solution having a pH of about 2.5 to about 4.0; mixing the metal catalyst precursor solution and a basic solution having a pH of about 10 to about 13 to produce a mixture with a pH of about 6 to about 7 and a precipitate; producing a powder from the precipitate; and calcining the powder to produce a metal catalyst. Such metal catalysts may be useful in producing bifunctional catalyst systems that are useful in, among other things, converting syngas to dimethyl ether in a single reactor.

摘要: A method of producing a acid/metal bifunctional catalyst may include: mixing an acid catalyst, a metal catalyst, and a fluid to produce a slurry, wherein the acid catalyst is present at 50 wt % or less relative to a total catalyst weight in the slurry; heating the slurry; producing a powder from the slurry; and calcining the powder to produce the acid/metal bifunctional catalyst. Such acid/metal bifunctional catalyst would be useful in the direct conversion of syngas to dimethyl ether as well as other reactions.

摘要: Implementations of a method of forming a wax ether composition may include: providing a batch of lipids, drying the batch of lipids, and cooling the batch of lipids. The method may also include dosing, with a catalyst, the batch of lipids at 0.1% to 0.3% by weight of the batch of lipids and dissolving the catalyst in the batch of lipids to form a homogenous solution. The method may include adding at least a molar equivalent of a hydrogen donor to the homogenous solution. The method may include sealing and maintaining the homogenous solution and hydrogen donor under atmospheric pressure under reflux until a chemical reaction between the homogenous solution and the hydrogen donor forms a product comprising an ether.

摘要: The invention relates to regenerative, solid sorbents for adsorbing carbon dioxide from a gas mixture, including air, with the sorbent including a modified polyamine and a solid support. The modified polyamine is the reaction product of an amine and an epoxide. The sorbent provides structural integrity, as well as high selectivity and increased capacity for efficiently capturing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, including the air. The sorbent is regenerative, and can be used through multiple cycles of adsorption-desorption.
