摘要: A resin composition contains an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, wherein the ratio (Y/Z) of a lactone ring content (Y) to the sum (Z) of a carboxylic acid content (X) and the lactone ring content (Y) in terminal structures of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is not less than 55 mol %, and at least one of a cinnamic acid component, a lubricant, a boron compound, and a conjugated polyene compound is present as a thermally stabilizing substance in a predetermined proportion based on the weight of the resin composition. Therefore, the resin composition is excellent in high-temperature thermal decomposition suppressing effect and thermal stability, and is free from odor emanation and coloration even if being processed at a higher temperature.

摘要: Provided is a polymer having a sharp melting peak and allowing easy adjustment of the melting peak temperature. Specifically provided is a polymer having two or more kinds of constitutional units containing an alkyl group having 14 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms, wherein the proportions of the number of the two or more kinds of constitutional units containing an alkyl group having 14 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms are each 20% or more, with respect to 100% of the total number of all constitutional units containing an alkyl group having 14 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms. An enthalpy of fusion of the polymer observed within a temperature range of 10° C. or higher and lower than 60° C. in differential scanning calorimetry is 30 J/g or more.

摘要: Disclosed herein are ethylene-based polymers generally characterized by a density of at least 0.94 g/cm3, a high load melt index from 4 to 20 g/10 min, a zero-shear viscosity at 190° C. from 20,000 to 400,000 kPa-sec, and a relaxation time at 190° C. from 225 to 3000 sec. These ethylene polymers can be produced by peroxide-treating a broad molecular weight distribution Ziegler-catalyzed resin, and can be used in large diameter, thick wall pipes and other end-use applications.

摘要: Synthesis and characterization of starch based pH-responsive nanoparticles for controlled drug delivery are described. Polymethacrylic acid grafted starch (PMAA-g-St) nanoparticles with various molar ratio of starch to MAA were synthesized by a new one-pot method that enabled simultaneous grafting of PMAA and nanoparticle formation in an aqueous medium. NMR data showed that polysorbate 80 was polymerized into the graft polymer. Nanoparticles were relatively spherical with narrow size distribution and porous surface morphology and exhibited pH-dependent swelling in physiological pH range. The particle size and magnitude of volume phase transition were dependent on PMAA content and formulation parameters such as surfactant levels, cross-linker amount, and total monomer concentration. The results showed that the new pH-responsive nanoparticles possessed useful properties for controlled drug delivery.
