摘要: In one aspect, methods of promoting bone growth are described herein. In some embodiments, a method of promoting bone growth described herein comprises promoting cell differentiation or phenotype progression in a population of bone cells by providing a citrate-presenting composition to the population of bone cells. In some embodiments, the citrate-presenting composition is provided to the bone cells at a first stage of cell development selected to obtain a first cell differentiation or phenotype progression. Additionally, in some cases, a second citrate-presenting composition is further provided to the bone cells at a second stage of cell development selected to obtain a second cell differentiation or phenotype progression.

摘要: A novel polymer is provided by polymerization of xylitol and dodecanedioic acid. The polymer, poly(xylitol-dodecanedioic acid) or PXDDA, shows high elasticity. PXDDA significantly improves cell adhesion and promotes cell proliferation compared to an FDA-approved polymer, poly(lactic acid), and tissue-culture plates. PXDDA can be synthesized by a simple melt condensation polymerization without the use of any toxic catalysts.

摘要: To provide a layered polyester film having excellent mechanical properties, transparency, heat resistance, and in particular excellent gas barrier property. A layered polyester film containing a polyester film and a thin film layer including mainly an inorganic compound, wherein the polyester film is a biaxially oriented polyester film including a dicarboxylic acid component containing mainly a furandicarboxylic acid and a glycol component containing mainly ethylene glycol, the thin film layer is formed on at least one surface of the polyester film, the inorganic compound is at least one of aluminum oxide and silicon oxide, and the layered polyester film has a plane orientation coefficient ΔP of not less than 0.100 and not more than 0.200, a film thickness of not thinner than 1 μm and not thicker than 300 μm, and an oxygen permeability of not less than 0.1 mL/m2/day/MPa and not more than 80 mL/m2/day/MPa under a temperature of 23° C. and a humidity of 65%.

摘要: A bone filling composition includes a bone filler. The bone filler includes microparticles of at least one elastomeric material. The at least one elastomeric material includes a poly(glycerol sebacate)-based thermoset. The poly(glycerol sebacate)-based thermoset may be porous thermoset poly(glycerol sebacate) flour, thermoset poly(glycerol sebacate) microspheres, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the bone filling composition is a bone filling composite that further includes a carrier material including a poly(glycerol sebacate) resin. A method of forming a bone filling composite includes selecting a bone filler and mixing the bone filler with a carrier material to form the bone filling composite. A method of treating a bony defect includes molding a bone filling composite and placing the bone filling composite in the bony defect. The bone filling composite includes a bone filler mixed with a carrier material.

摘要: A method of preparing a polymeric material includes combining a glycerol-pharmaceutical conjugate, glycerol, and water in a vessel. The glycerol-pharmaceutical conjugate includes a pharmaceutical compound, for example, salicylic acid, having at least one carboxyl group attached to glycerol by an ester bond. The method also includes adding sebacic acid to the vessel and removing water from the vessel and reacting the glycerol, glycerol-pharmaceutical conjugate, and sebacic acid in the vessel at atmospheric pressure in the presence of an inert gas. The method further includes applying a sub-atmospheric pressure to the vessel after the step of reacting, to form the polymeric material in the vessel. The polymeric material includes a polyester copolymer of the sebacic acid and the glycerol and the pharmaceutical compound.

A ratio of a total number of the at least one pendant group to the total number of ester groups in the polyester is in a range of 0.001 to 0.1. The polyester has a glass transition temperature in a range of −50° C. to −10° C.

摘要: A method for preparing an aliphatic polyester resin powder includes the steps ofa) heat dissolving a crystalline aliphatic polyester resin in an organic solvent to obtain an aliphatic polyester resin solution;b) cooling the aliphatic polyester resin solution to precipitate a solid, thereby obtaining a solid-liquid mixture;c) optionally adding an adjuvant to the solid-liquid mixture and mixing; andd) conducting solid-liquid separation and drying to obtain an aliphatic polyester resin powder suitable for selective laser sintering.The crystalline aliphatic polyester resin powder obtained has good antioxidant property, good powder flowability, moderate size, smooth surface, suitable bulk density, and suitable dispersibility and particle size distribution. The aliphatic polyester resin powder is particularly suitable for selective laser sintering method.

摘要: An RMA crosslinkable composition having at least one crosslinkable component including reactive components A and B each including at least 2 reactive groups, the at least 2 reactive groups of component A being acidic protons (C—H) in activated methylene or methine groups and the at least 2 reactive groups of component B are activated unsaturated groups (C═C) and a base catalyst (C) which reactive components A and B crosslink by Real Michael Addition (RMA) reaction under action of the base catalyst, characterised in that the at least one crosslinkable component including reactive components A and B in the composition have a total hydroxy number of less than 60, preferably less than 40 and more preferably less than 20 mg KOH/g solids. Further, specific resins A and B having a low hydroxy number for use in RMA cross-linkable compositions and a process for the manufacture thereof.
