    摘要： A fire hydrant assembly for use with an irrigation riser stub may include a generally cylindrically-shaped main body having an open end and a closed end. The open end of the main body has an inside diameter that is sized to slidably receive an end portion of the irrigation riser stub. A seal disposed within the open end of the main body is sized to sealingly engage the irrigation riser stub. A nipple having a threaded end and a plain end is mounted within an opening provided in a side portion of the main body so that the threaded end may be threaded onto a fire hose assembly. An actuator shaft extends through a shaft opening defined by the closed end of the main body so that a head end of the actuator shaft is disposed outside the main body and so that a distal end of the actuator shaft is disposed within an interior cavity defined by the main body. A yoke mounted to the distal end of the actuator shaft is sized to operatively engage a valve stem associated with the irrigation riser stub.

    摘要： The valve operating apparatus cycles valves between open and closed positions. The valve operating apparatus includes a trailer for use in towing behind other vehicles, for instance, behind a pickup truck. The trailer includes an engine, pump, battery, reservoir and a bidirectionally oriented motor which is suspended from a telescoping extension bar. The operation of the valve operating apparatus is substantially balanced and requires very little effort by the operator to operate. Specifically, the operator does not have to push down or lift the apparatus as it is substantially balanced.

    摘要： A line relay valve has a valve body with a straight trunk which connects a movable pump to a fire extinguishing nozzle. When the hose lay is several thousand feet, causing severe pressure loss, a first angular branch of the trunk, with a gate valve, is connected to the influent side of a movable booster pump. A second angular branch is connected to the effluent side of the booster pump. Upon opening the gate valve, a clapper swings from first branch blocking position to trunk blocking position to interpose the booster into the system without air intake or water interruption.

    摘要： The pump apparatus is an economic and trouble-free apparatus for pumping drinking water from a source bottle positioned on the floor, where it is delivered, to an elevated vessel from which it can gravitationally flow. The apparatus comprises a centrifugal or other non-selfpriming pump which can be set directly on the mouth of the source bottle on the floor. A pump suction pipe extends into the source bottle. An elastomeric spheroidal squeeze bulb is serially connected to the pump, directly in its output line. Check valves are positioned on opposite sides of the squeeze bulb, with the suction check valve preferably on the input side of the pump. Manual squeezing of the bulb primes the pump. A flexible hose from the squeeze bulb discharges the water to the elevated bottle. Since the elevated vessel has a filling opening in the top and a discharge opening in the bottom, means are provided to close the bottom opening during filling to prevent the water from running directly out. This is alternatively accomplished by means of a float valve or by means of a manually operated valve which is closed during the filling operation.
