摘要: An apparatus and method for generating vibration in a downhole tubular, in which the apparatus includes a pulse valve that is configured to open and close intermittently, so as to intermittently vary pressure of a fluid that flows into the downhole tubular and thereby generate vibration in the downhole tubular, and a driver coupled to the pulse valve and configured to open and close the pulse valve. The driver is powered by a source of energy that is not in fluid communication with the downhole tubular.

摘要: Embodiments of the modular fracking ball assembly can include, but are not limited to, a measurement assembly, a shock absorbing layer, and an outer shell. The shock absorbing layer can encase the measurement assembly and the outer shell can encase the shock absorbing layer and the measurement assembly. The outer shell of the modular fracking ball assembly can be replaced with another outer shell when a change in parameters of the modular fracking ball assembly is needed. For instance, an overall diameter or a specific gravity of the modular fracking ball assembly can be changed by swapping outer shells.

摘要: A downhole vibration tool includes a body, a mandrel, a spring, and a balance piston. The body may be generally tubular and may have one or more helical slots formed on an inner surface thereof. The mandrel may be generally tubular, may have a bore, and may be positioned at least partially within the body. The mandrel may have one or more helical splines formed on an outer surface of the mandrel, the helical splines engaging the helical slots of the body such that the mandrel is translatable axially relative to the body. The spring may be positioned in an annular space formed between the mandrel and the body defined as a spring chamber. The balance piston may be in an annular space formed between the mandrel and the body, wherein the balance piston separates an oil-filled chamber from an internal pressure chamber.

摘要: Downhole neutron generators, downhole logging tools that utilize neutron generators, and methods to auto tune downhole neutron generators are disclosed. While a neutron generator is deployed in a borehole of a wellbore, the method includes determining whether an oscillation cycle of an ion beam current generated by the neutron generator is stable. After a determination that the oscillation cycle of the ion beam current is stable, the method includes determining proportional, integral, and derivative parameters of a proportional-integral-derivative controller that is operable to adjust an amount of power supplied to generate ions. The method further includes adjusting a replenish voltage of a replenish power supply of the neutron generator based on the proportional, integral, and derivative parameters.

摘要: Systems and methods for producing controlled vibrations within a borehole. In one example, the system includes a movement mechanism and a controller. The movement mechanism is configured to enable translational movement of a first surface relative to a second surface to allow the first surface to impact the second surface to produce a plurality of beats. The frequency and amplitude of the beats may be selectively controlled by suppressing or dampening the beats. The controller is configured to selectively control an amplitude or frequency of the beats to encode information therein, where the amplitude of a beat may be selectively controlled by dampening or suppressing the impact of the first surface and the second surface.

摘要: Methods to improve fluid flow of a multi-phase mixture, methods to separate fluids of a multi-phase mixture, and downhole multi-phase fluid mixture systems are disclosed. A method to improve fluid flow of a multi-phase mixture includes positioning a first acoustic device and a second acoustic device around a conveyance that provides a fluid flow path for a first fluid in a first phase and a second fluid in a second phase to simultaneously flow through the conveyance. The method also includes determining a flow rate and a fluid condition of the fluid mixture. The method further includes generating a standing acoustic wave through the conveyance based on the flow rate and the fluid condition to break down the first fluid into droplets having volume within a threshold volume.

An apparatus for drilling a wellbore includes a tubing string and a bottom hole assembly coupled to the tubing string. The bottom hole assembly includes a first oscillator and a second oscillator.
