    摘要: A pressure-energized ring joint gasket such as a CX gasket for a clamp or other connector includes a cylindrical inner surface oriented toward adjacent sections of a subsea stack that are to be joined by the connector, wings that taper away from the cylindrical inner surface and end in a rectangular shoulder, wherein a portion of the rectangular shoulder is removed to create a boss, an upper groove, and a lower groove, and D-rings in the upper and lower grooves. The gasket can be used to connect adjacent sections of the stack and to maintain a seal between the sections whether the external sea water pressure is greater or less than the internal well pressure. A method for using the gasket for connecting adjacent sections of a subsea stack in offshore drilling environments is also provided.

The packing element includes a sealing element positioned on an outer surface of a mandrel deployed in the wellbore, where the sealing element is disposed in an annulus between the mandrel and a portion of the wellbore. The sealing element includes a first cavity on an inner surface of the sealing element, where the first cavity has a first size and is positioned proximate a first end of the sealing element. The sealing element also includes a second cavity on the inner surface of the sealing element, where the second cavity has a second size that is different from the first size, and is positioned proximate a second end of the sealing element. The packing element also includes a first and second gauge rings positioned at first and second ends of the sealing element, respectively.

    摘要: An example wellbore isolation device includes a mandrel and one or more solid sealing elements disposed about the mandrel and plastically deformable to seal against an inner wall of a casing or an inner wall of a wellbore. A slip wedge is disposed about the mandrel on a first axial end of the one or more solid sealing elements, and a radial shoulder positioned on the mandrel at a second axial end of the one or more sealing elements. At least the slip wedge applies a compressive force on the one or more solid sealing elements and thereby plastically deforms the one or more solid sealing elements into sealing engagement with the inner wall of the casing or the wellbore.

The vault is a heavy bell-shaped structure, formed of concrete, and having a downwardly facing concavity, and the vault placed over, with the concavity around the wellhead. The vaults too heavy to be removed by human lifting. Lifting elements are provided to allow the vault to be installed and removed by heavy construction equipment. The vault has a vent that communicates between the concavity and the outside, allowing air, but not liquid, liquid or solid contaminants, or animals, to pass through.

    摘要: A wellhead assembly includes an outer wellhead member, the outer wellhead member having a locking profile on an inner surface. An inner tubular wellhead member lands within the outer wellhead member, defining a seal pocket between the inner tubular wellhead member and the outer wellhead member. A seal ring is located in the seal pocket. A seal energizing ring urges the seal ring into sealing engagement with the outer wellhead member and the inner tubular wellhead member. An annular lock ring is carried with the seal energizing ring and engages the locking profile. A lock energizing ring retains the annular lock ring in engagement with the locking profile.
