    摘要: A method of drilling an uncompleted lateral wellbore in a subsurface formation includes drilling the uncompleted lateral wellbore with coiled tubing in the subsurface formation. The subsurface formation includes unconsolidated sand and the subsurface formation overlays a water-saturated reservoir. The method may further include introducing particles having an average particle size of from 8 mesh to 140 mesh into the uncompleted lateral wellbore, thereby supporting the uncompleted lateral wellbore and avoiding wellbore collapse and installing a screen in a vertical wellbore fluidly connected to the uncompleted lateral wellbore, wherein the screen has a mesh size of from 325 mesh to 1000 mesh. The subsurface formation may include hydrocarbons and the method may further include producing hydrocarbons from the subsurface formation.

    摘要: A method for fracking a hydrocarbon formation. An actuating member, flowable along a production string, is provided. A unique key portion thereon engages a desired sliding sleeve covering an associated port in the production string. Applying uphole fluid pressure causes the sliding sleeve and actuating member to move so as to uncover the associated port. After fracking and cessation of supply of pressurized fracturing fluid, a compressed spring on the actuating member decompresses so as to reposition a sand screen immediately beneath the port so as to prevent sand from flowing into the production string. Flowable insertion of additional “keyed” actuating members allows similar opening of additional successive uphole ports and fracking in the regions of such additional opened ports, with similar location of sand screens at each opened port. Plug members on each actuating member thereafter dissolve or are successively burst to thereby allow production.

    摘要: A sand removal system configured to remove sand from a casing installed within a producing wellbore. The system utilizes a bottom hole assembly comprising a check valve sub and at least one sand removal tool. A swab cup installed within a vertical section the casing is used to create a pressure differential around the bottom hole assembly, causing fluid and sand to flow at a high velocity into the sand removal tool. The sand is caused to flow upstream where is later removed from the wellbore.

    摘要: A modular anti-rotation device for preventing rotation with respect to the central axis of a drilling tool in a borehole and for producing a notch in a borehole surface. The anti-rotation device includes an upper fixture portion and a lower fixture portion in axial alignment. The upper fixture portion and the lower fixture portion are connected by yoke assemblies. Each yoke assembly is connected to the fixture portion and fixture portion at one end, and forming an articulated joint of the upper yoke assembly and the lower yoke assembly at a distal end opposite the first end. A roller is connected at each joint, connecting the upper and lower yoke assemblies. The rollers engage vertically with a borehole surface, the rollers travelling axially, as a drill shaft penetrates into the borehole, the rollers simultaneously preventing radial movement of the anti-rotation device and prevent rotation with respect to the central axis of the borehole.

The liner includes an outer tubular member, a hydraulic actuator on an outer surface of the outer tubular member for hydraulically setting a packer of the liner, and a hydraulic channel for directing fluid through the outer tubular member and into the hydraulic actuator to set the packer. The hydraulic channel has a first port at an inner surface of the outer tubular member and a second port at the outer surface of the outer tubular member at an axial location of the hydraulic actuator. The first port is at a different axial location of the outer tubular member than the second port. A fluid is pumped through the hydraulic channel into the hydraulic actuator to set the packer.
