Abstract: A wellhead assembly with an external test port for testing a primary seal at an interface of a wellhead and a base. The assembly includes unique architecture with a secondary seal provided adjacent the primary. In this manner, testing of the primary seal from an external location may proceed without concern over a false indication of primary seal failure. That is, for circumstances where a more interior side of the seal fails under pressure testing even though an outer face of the seal might remain in sealing engagement, the secondary seal would ensure that the outer sealing engagement is detected. As a result, a practical manner of testing the wellhead seal from an external location without the need of plugging the wellbore is provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling extraction of landfill gas from a landfill via a gas extraction system are provided herein. According to some aspects of the technology, there is provided site-level control methods for globally controlling one or more wells based on one or more characteristics of aggregate landfill gas collected from a plurality of wells at a gas output. According to some aspects of the technology, there is provided well-level control methods for locally controlling a first well based on or more characteristics of landfill gas collected from the first well. According to further aspects of the technology, there is provided hybrid control methods for making adjustments to a respective well based on both site-level and well-level control methods.

Abstract: A method and system for disposing a fluid sampling tool into a wellbore, taking a plurality of fluid samples with the fluid sampling tool, identifying a plurality of asphaltene onset pressures (AOP) downhole based at the least on the plurality of fluid samples. The method may further comprise forming an AOP map from at least the plurality of AOPs, identifying a laboratory property from at least one of the plurality of fluid samples; and developing a relational model between at least one of the plurality of AOPs and the laboratory property. The system may include a fluid sampling tool with one or more probes for injecting the one or more probes into a wellbore and taking a plurality of fluid samples from the wellbore.

Abstract: A system can comprise a drill string sub that is configured to couple to a drill rod of a drill string, wherein the drill string sub defines a shoulder and at least one through hole. A plug assembly can be receivable with a bore of the drill. The plug assembly can be releasably coupled to the drill string sub. When decoupled from the drill string, the plug assembly can be configured to be pumped into the drill string. The plug assembly can comprise a distal subassembly that defines a receiver that is configured engage a reverse circulation overshot. A proximal subassembly can be coupled to the distal subassembly. The proximal subassembly can comprise a brake apparatus that is configured to inhibit proximal movement of the plug assembly.

Abstract: A method of utilizing a hydraulics model with a well operation can include the steps of inputting well parameters to the hydraulics model, assigning nodes to respective well locations, the hydraulics model being configured to determine corresponding pressures at the respective nodes, and unevenly spacing the nodes along a wellbore. A well equipment control system for use with a subterranean well can include a hydraulics model configured to determine pressures at respective nodes along a wellbore, the nodes being unevenly spaced along the wellbore, and an actuator configured to actuate well equipment at least in part based on the hydraulics model pressure determinations.

Abstract: A method comprising reducing the pressure of a carbon dioxide injection stream with a first pressure reducer having a depth and producing a reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream; reducing the pressure of the reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream with a second pressure reducer positioned at a lower depth than the first pressure reducer to produce a further reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream; and injecting the further reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream into a reservoir having a depth; wherein the pressure of the carbon dioxide stream at the depth of the first pressure reducer is greater than a bubble point pressure of the carbon dioxide injection stream at the depth of the first pressure reducer; wherein the pressure of the further reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream at the depth of the reservoir is less than a minimum fracture pressure of the reservoir at the depth of the reservoir.

Abstract: A control system for controlling pressure of fluid within a wellbore includes a rotating control device (RCD). a distribution manifold, a choke and kill (CK) manifold, and a managed pressure drilling (MPD) manifold fluidly connected with each other, a sensor operable to facilitate fluid measurements indicative of a property of the fluid, and a controller communicatively connected with the distribution manifold and the sensor. The controller is operable to receive the fluid measurements, cause the distribution manifold to direct the fluid discharged out of the wellbore via the RCD to flow through the MPD manifold to thereby permit the MPD manifold to control the pressure of the fluid within the wellbore, and cause the distribution manifold to direct the fluid discharged out of the wellbore via the RCD to flow through the CK manifold to thereby permit the CK manifold to control the pressure of the fluid within the wellbore.

Abstract: A perforating gun for use in oil and gas operations. The gun is carried to a desired area of a wellbore using only fluid pressure. The gun comprises a charge housing disposed within a removable sleeve. The charge housing comprises a plurality of shaped charges in communication with one or more sensors. The sensors are programmed to initiate the detonation sequence of the shaped charges upon measuring set parameters. Upon detonation, the gun fragments into a plurality of pieces that may be washed away from the detonation site.
