The bearing is positioned without an intermediate component in a housing of the monobloc support.

摘要: A tubular reactor which acts as a combustor and heat exchanger is disclosed. Such reactor supplants a system with a combustor having a heat exchanger arranged around the combustor. The combined system includes a diffuser having an inlet for a fuel-and-air mixture and a plurality of holes defined in its surface through which the fuel-and-air mixture exits the diffuser and a plurality of tubes. First linear portions along the length of each tube are mutually parallel with a centerline of the first portions of the tubes displaced from the diffuser by a predetermined distance. Centerlines of the linear portions of adjacent tubes are displaced from each other by a predetermined gap. The fuel and air combust in the proximity of the first portion of the tubes for effective heat transfer to gases traveling through the tubes. Such a tubular reactor can be employed within a thermal-compression heat pump.

摘要: A system for energy conversion including a closed cycle engine containing a volume of working fluid is provided. The engine includes a double-ended piston assembly including a pair of pistons coupled to a connection member. An expansion chamber is separated from a compression chamber by the piston. The engine defines an outer end and an inner end relative to a lateral extension of the piston assembly. A heater body is positioned thermally proximal to the expansion chamber and thermally distal to the compression chamber, and the heater body is positioned at the outer end of the engine. A load device is operably coupled to the piston assembly at the inner end of the engine. The load device is positioned between the pair of pistons of the piston assembly.

摘要: An assembly with a piston reciprocated with the aid of a floating head in fluid communication with the piston. The assembly may utilize a floating head that is shifted in position to promote reciprocation of the piston through the aid of pressure supplied to the floating head from a pressure volume regulator. Alternatively, the floating head may be in fluid communication with the piston at one side of the head and isolated at the other side. In this manner changing volume and pressure at this other side of the head during reciprocation may ultimately lead to floating head movement toward the piston, thereby promoting the continued reciprocation. Additional efficiencies may also be realized through unique hydraulic layouts for both operating and working fluid circulations.

摘要: A method for pressurisation of a working gas in a Stirling engine assembly for use in a thermal energy plant, the Stirling engine assembly including: a Stirling engine including an expansion cylinder and a compression cylinder, wherein the expansion and compression cylinders are configured in a V-arrangement; a regenerator; a cooler and a heater; an accumulator, the accumulator being in fluidic connection with the expansion and/or compression cylinders of the Stirling engine; and a low pressure receptacle including the working gas. The method includes: providing working gas to the accumulator from the low pressure receptacle; providing a pressurisation fluid to the accumulator to reduce the volume for the working gas in the accumulator, thereby increasing the pressure of the working gas in the accumulator; and displacing the pressurised working gas from the accumulator to the expansion and/or compression cylinder.

摘要: A monolithic combustor body may provide multi-stage combustion. A combustor body may include a combustion chamber body and a plurality of heating walls that include a heat sink. The combustion chamber body may be disposed annularly about a longitudinal axis and defining a combustion chamber. The plurality of heating walls may include heat sink. The plurality of heating walls may occupy a radially or concentrically outward position relative to the combustion chamber and may define a corresponding plurality of combustion-gas pathways fluidly communicating with at least a proximal portion of the combustion chamber. During operation, the combustor body may exhibit multi-stage combustion that includes a first combustion zone occupying a distal or medial position of the combustion chamber relative to the longitudinal axis, and a second combustion zone occupying a proximal position relative to the first combustion zone and a radially or concentrically outward position of the combustion chamber and/or a radially or concentrically inward position of the plurality of combustion-gas pathways.
