    摘要: A self-adjusting automatic slack adjuster for reducing slack in the brake of a vehicle includes an adjuster link having a resilient portion. When a brake application force being applied to the slack adjuster exceeds a level that could result in brake application linkage damage as a result of the slack adjuster's slack adjustment mechanism having reached a travel limit, the resilient portion of the adjuster link permits the axial length of the adjuster link to change to accommodate the high brake application force in order to minimize or preclude damage to the brake application linkage.

The brake control system corrects by the one correction factor and activates a regulator of the electric motor using the corrected brake control signal. The control and monitoring unit is performs a calibration by a spring force of the at least one spring during the first movement.

    摘要: A brake assembly has an auto-adjustment mechanism including an adjusting link that is rotatable to adjust an unloaded state position of a brake shoe, and an adjusting lever that operates to rotate the adjusting link during a release of the braking assembly to adjust the unloaded state position of the brake shoe. The auto-adjustment mechanism includes a pivot point mounted on a brake back plate about which the adjusting lever rotates, and an adjusting spring attached to the adjusting lever. The adjusting lever rotates in a first direction against the spring force when the brake assembly is actuated, and the adjusting spring by operation of the spring force rotates the adjusting lever in a second direction when the brake assembly is released. During the brake release, as the adjusting lever rotates back the adjusting lever catches the adjusting link in a ratchet fashion to rotate the adjusting link to adjust the unloaded state position of the brake shoes.

    摘要: A method of tensioning park cables of a park brake system includes positioning a tension indicating device between an adjuster and an adjusting nut when the park brake system is disposed in a slack position. The tension indicating device includes an axial spacing length between the adjuster and the adjusting nut that is equal to a desired adjustment distance of the park cables when the park brake system is disposed in the slack position. The adjusting nut is then tightened until the tension indicating device indicates that the park cables include a tension equal to a target tension level of the park cables when the park brake system is disposed in an applied position. The tension indicating device is then removed from between the adjuster and the adjusting nut, thereby introducing slack into the park cables that is equal to the axial length of the tension indicating device.
