    摘要: A toroidal variable speed traction drive includes a driving disc and a driven disc. The discs have a common axis of rotation. The inner face of each disc is formed with a negative shape of a toroid. The drive further includes a plurality of roller assemblies interposed between the discs each roller assembly including a roller. The discs are urged together against the interposed roller assemblies by a clamping force. Each roller assembly is connected to a corresponding rotatable trunnion. The trunnion applies a steering force to the corresponding roller assembly at a point relative to the corresponding roller assembly; the applied steering force causing the roller of the corresponding roller assembly to steer and adopt different contact points. The point at which the steering force is applied is located offset from the trunnion rotational axis at a fixed distance.

    摘要: The present invention provides a toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of reducing loss which occurs at a bearing and achieving range-widening at low cost with easy disc machinability.In the toroidal continuously variable transmission, a bearing ring 100 of a ball bearing 6 is formed at a small end surface 3a of an inner disc 3. Further, at least a part of the bearing ring 100 is axially overlapped with a traction surface 12 which is a boundary surface between a power roller and the inner disc 3. Further, a position adjustment member 120 is inserted between support posts 8a, 8b and a bearing ring facing to the disc 3 (the other bearing ring of the ball bearing 6 opposed to the bearing ring 100 of the small end surface 3a).

The CVT includes an input member drivingly connected to the input shaft, and an output member. Rotation of the input member is steplessly changed in speed and transmitted to the output member by a shear force of an oil film interposed at the contact position. The drive system includes an electric motor having a dedicated output shaft, a differential device, and a gear transmission device that is structured from a meshing rotary transmission mechanism. A case includes at least a first space filled with traction oil and accommodating the CVT device, and a second space filled with lubricant oil and accommodating the gear transmission device.

    摘要: A transmission arrangement for an engine driven vehicle having two continuously variable transmissions serving to drive left and right hand vehicle wheels at separately variable drive ratios. Each transmission incorporates a variator of the type in which a net torque applied to the variator through its input and output is referred to a ratio control part, which may be formed as a control lever, whose position governs the transmission's drive ratio. The control parts of the variators are each operatively coupled to a driver's speed control, such that the speed control determines a mean position of the two control parts. However they are both also able to move relative to the mean position, under the influence of the torque they react. Additionally the control parts are coupled to each other such that any displacement of one control part from the mean position is accompanied by an opposite displacement of the other control part. In this way the transmissions are enabled to the relative speeds of the driven vehicle wheels automatically to reduce or even eliminate wheel slip, whilst still providing the driver with control over overall vehicle speed.

A first torque cam (15) and a second torque cam (20) are disposed in parallel with a transmission path of torque. The first torque cam (15) passes transfer torque in a region (first stage, second stage) where the transfer torque is smaller than a predetermined value (b) to generate an axial force corresponding to the transfer torque. The second torque cam (20) passes transfer torque in a region (third stage) where the transfer torque is larger than the predetermined value (b) to generate an axial force corresponding to the transfer torque.

    摘要: A continuously variable speed transmission includes a first guideway, a second guideway, wherein the first guideway and the second guideway remain stationary during operation at a particular speed ratio. The transmission further includes a first member moveably connected to the first guideway and the second guideway, the first member further comprising gear teeth and a second member having gear teeth positioned at an adjustable angle relative to the first member. A gear engages the gear teeth of the first member and the gear teeth of the second member. The speed ratio of the transmission is determined based on angle of the second member relative to the first member. Either of the first member or the second member may be the input with the other member being the output depending upon whether a speed increase or a speed decrease is desired.
