    摘要: A power transmission apparatus includes an oil pump disposed between a hydraulic controller and a strainer. The oil pump includes a rotor (3) and a housing provided with a rotor chamber housing the rotor (3). Rotation of the rotor (3) causes oil to be sucked into an oil chamber (c1) defined by the rotor (3), and the oil is pressurized and discharged therefrom. The housing is provided with a first oil passage (71) through which oil sucked from a reservoir through the strainer flows toward the oil chamber, and a second oil passage (72) through which oil refluxed from the hydraulic controller flows toward the oil chamber. The second oil passage (72) includes a curved oil passage curved along the rotor (3) and is disposed such that the oil refluxed from the hydraulic controller flows in a rotation direction of the rotor (3) through the curved oil passage.

    摘要: A centrifugal pendulum absorber for a torque converter is provided. The centrifugal pendulum absorber includes a center plate; a roller received in a roller slot formed in the center plate; and a first mass on a rear axial side of the center plate and a second mass on a front axial side of the center plate. The first and second masses are slidable with respect to the center plate along the slot roller. The first mass includes a first radially extending section and a first axial protrusion extending axially past a rear-side axial surface of the first radially extending section. The second mass includes a second radially extending section and a second axial protrusion extending axially past a front-side axial surface of the second radially extending section. A torque converter and a method of forming a centrifugal pendulum absorber are also provided.

    摘要: The improved hydrodynamic variator of velocity comprises a pump (3) having radial pistons and a hydromotor (4) also having radial pistons. At least the pump is arranged with a variable eccentricity and there is provided a central body (56) the latter having frontal distributors (30 and 31) which are placed in communication with the radial cylindrical cavities respectively of the pump and the hydromotor by means of the openings of the conduits (32 and 33). By varying the eccentricity of the pump, the rate of flow of the liquid in the pump is varied, thus causing a variation in the number of turns of the hydromotor.

    摘要: A pressure modulated hydrodynamic retarder is provided for a power delivery system and speed sensing means is provided for sensing the rotational speed of the output of the retarder for producing a corresponding pressure fluid flow which acts to vary the fluid relief pressure of a pressure control valve for the retarder and consequently varies the torque of the retarder in accordance with its rotor speed. In this manner the retarder is modulated as determined by its output speed and when the invention is used in a hoisting operation, as the lowering speed increases due to the falling load the retarding action of the retarder also increases. A particularly desirable form of sensing means includes a variable flow fluid pump which is driven at a speed proportional to the lowering speed of the load to proportionately vary the retarding ability of the retarder. The retarder system may include a one-way clutch between the retarder rotor and the power output shaft to provide for free-wheeling of the retarder when the shaft is rotated to raise the load, and which one-way clutch connects the rotor to the shaft when the shaft is rotating in the opposite direction to lower the load and this arrangement permits raising of the load without interference from the retarder and then automatically connects the retarder to the shaft when the load is lowered.

    摘要: A hydrodynamic torque converter having a rotating casing enclosing a work chamber which includes a turbine member, a reaction member and a pump member. At least one of the turbine member or a radial extension of the turbine output shaft but preferably the turbine member, is movable axially for engagement or disengagement with the other to thereby engage the turbine member to or release it from the turbine shaft. The turbine shaft extension may further engage the rotating casing for direct drive. Movement of the turbine member and/or the turbine shaft extension between the various operating positions is brought about by means of pressure differentials across these members, which members thereby serve as servo-piston elements.
