    Abstract: A control apparatus for a continuously variable transmission includes a primary-pulley clamping force acquiring unit that acquires a clamping force of a primary pulley, a secondary-pulley clamping force acquiring unit that acquires a clamping force of a secondary pulley, an input torque acquiring unit that acquires a torque applied to the primary pulley, a transmission ratio acquiring unit that acquires a transmission ratio, a learning value acquiring unit, and a controller. When a learning condition is satisfied, the learning value acquiring unit decreases the clamping force of the secondary pulley while the transmission ratio and the input torque are kept substantially constant, and acquires, as a learning value, the clamping force of the secondary pulley at which a clamping force ratio is maximum. The controller adjusts a target clamping force of the secondary pulley on the basis of the learning value.

    Abstract: A bicycle front derailleur is basically provided with a base member, a chain guide, a link mechanism, and a biasing member. The base member is configured to be fixedly coupled to the bicycle. The chain guide is configured to guide a chain. The link mechanism couples the chain guide to the base member between retracted and extended positions in response to movement of an operation cable. The link mechanism includes a first link pivotally connected to the chain guide about a first pivot axis. The first link is configured such that the first pivot axis moves in a forward-rearward direction, while the chain guide moves between the retracted position and the extended position in a mounted state where the base member is mounted to a bicycle frame. The biasing member is operatively disposed between the base member and the chain guide to bias the chain guide towards the extended position.

    Abstract: A front derailleur device for a bicycle chain shift includes a frame fixing part for attachment to a bicycle frame, a hinge arrangement which is pivotable relative to the frame fixing part, and a chain cage which is pivotable relative to the frame fixing part via the pivotable hinge arrangement for guiding and pivoting of the bicycle chain. The hinge arrangement includes at least two hinged struts which can be mounted rotatably relative to the frame fixing part and relative to the chain cage about pivot axes. The pivot axes run substantially parallel to each other and, in a mounted state of the derailleur device on a bicycle, may be oriented substantially vertically.

    Abstract: A derailleur system is provided that moves the derailleur cage in a substantially rectilinear path. The derailleur is mounted to a frame having a gear cassette mounted thereon. The gear cassette includes an axis of rotation. The derailleur includes a drive member engaging the gear cassette. The derailleur is positioned on the frame adjacent the gear cassette, and including a spatial linkage having a stationary link, a floating link, and a cage assembly having two pulleys each defining an axis of rotation. The drive member engages each of the pulleys. The path of the floating link is substantially linear through substantially its entire range of motion and variously aligns at least one of the pulleys with the gear cassette.
